Marmot Limelight 2-Person Tent w/ Footprint and Gear Loft
The Marmot Limelight 2-Person Tent w/ Footprint and Gear Loft's clean, functional design fits right in, whether you take it summer backpacking or car camping. A large 9-square foot vestibule protects your gear from the rain while providing a covered entrance to the 32-square foot interior. Marmot added mesh panels to the walls for increased ventilation in warm weather and a window on the vestibule so you can check conditions in not-so-nice weather. Pole clips make the Limelight Tent quick and easy to pitch, so you can get it up and get on with dinner and rest. Despite all these features, and this tent weighs only 5lbs.
Bottom Line: The Marmot Limelight Tent—functional features for nearly any use.

The fly has a slit on top with a flap with velcro. Also in the package is a small type of extension tube. Somehow I think this is all supposed to fit together, but I don't know how. What gives?

what is the difference between this tent (the Linelight) and the Earlylight.

The big difference is that the Earlylight has twin doors and vestibules whereas the Limelight has only one. A more subtle difference is the shape of the doors. The Earlylight has D shaped doors, which helps to keep them off of the ground when open. These extra features do add some ounces to the final 'carrying' weight of the Earlylight.
