Marmot Venus Down Jacket - Women's

Wear the Marmot Women's Venus Down Jacket alone when you're scurrying from bar to bar under a clear moonlit sky or wear it under a shell for added warmth when the pressure drops and the clouds dump their loads. Marmot stuffed this jacket full of super-warm 800-fill down, but the Venus stays slim and lightweight so you can use it as a layering piece, or as a just-in-case insulator waiting in the bottom of your pack. Downproof fabric keeps down insulation from sneaking out of the jacket while the Angel Wing arm construction increases range of motion.

Bottom Line: The Marmot Venus Down Jacket—not quite as warm as the solar system's second planet, but close.

Keeps me warm

My husband got the Patagonia one and I tried to find a women's in that but couldn't so I opted for the Marmot. It is a great jacket. I normally wear a small but got the medium instead, it is a little roomy but ok since I will have layers on underneath. I would definitely reccomend it as a down coat for camping/hiking.

Why does this jacket have only a 1 year warranty? I was seriously looking at purchasing this jacket, but EVERY other jacket I'm considering has a LIFETIME warranty. I've never even used a warranty on a jacket before- but when I notice 1 that stands out with only 1 year, I start to wonder if the manufacturer doesn't have faith in thier own product. Is there a logical reason for this and I just don't know it? Thanks.

Doesn't matter, Backcountry will take it back even if it's been ten years. From this site, everything has a lifetime warranty.

basic but a keeper

I am a soild size 14 with hips and b chest. The fit on this L coat has been perfect for me. This coat is thin but warm. Skied in it in South America this summer to test it out. It worked out great. Warning: it is a basic coat. The inner pockets do not have zippers. No under arm venting. No snow skirt. I wish it had a couple more features, but I am happy with the style so I'm keeping it.

hip hop

i was pretty dissapointed in the fit in the hips. the XL is plenty big in the shoulders and chest, actually almost too big, but way too tight in the hips. If you have hips you might need to size up. I ended getting a mont bell men's jacket instead. the rest of the jacket seemed great, i was just bummed on the fit.

warm and small

This jacket is thin and very compressible, but remarkably warm. I wore it in 30 degree weather and stayed warm. Fits a little big, but it worked well for layering.

I ordered three different down jackets for my wife to compare. They were the Patagonia down sweater, one by OR and the Marmot Venus. The Venus was definitely the favorite. She loves it!
