Marmot Shot 9 Component Jacket - Men's

Softshell material makes the Marmot Men's Shot 9 Component Jacket weather-resistant enough for skiing, and the removable synthetic liner increases warmth for frigid days. Soft polyester backing helps you stay comfortable when you wear the shell alone. Add the MarmaLoft liner jacket when the temps plummet and you need more insulation to battle the chill. Although the Shot 9 Component Jacket's hoodless design works for in-town use, Marmot gave it a powder skirt to keep out the snow when you take it to the mountain for some post-storm tracks.

Bottom Line: The three-piece Marmot Shot 9 Component Jacket takes on a variety of weather conditions both in town and in the mountains.

Almost there

I think this jacket is warm, the black looks good, and is a decent jacket overall The liner is attractive enough to wear on it's own. The jacket fit me well(Small, 140lbs/5'7), so I did not have any size issues other than the length. However, there are a few things I didn't like (YMMV) so I ended up returning it. 1). The "soft" shell is much harder than some of the other Marmot jackets I've seen. I felt like the shell of the shot 9 was louder than the hard shell I usually wear. Also, it simply did not have the suppleness I wanted in a soft shell. 2). The zipper for the arm is not covered well inside the jacket and I got a solid scratch when I tried the shell without the liner. 3). The color of the Wood/Burnish is not as flattering in real life. The arms are an odd greenish/brown instead of the beautiful hue shown in the picture. 4). The jacket I really short. If I sat down my midsection would be exposed. This is not a great feature on a 10 degree day. 5). I found the collar design on the shell to be odd. It juts out a lot in the front and is just bigger than any other jacket I've ever seen. A note: I'm one of those people that shifts between a small/medium depending on cut/brand. Some of the issues above probably are due to that.

Size charts a little off

By: Marmot Shot 9 Review(1)

Size was a 1/2 size smaller than typical Larges. I have owned several Marmot coats and this tends to be the trend. If it were a normal large I would be able to wear the liner alone, this is not the case. Oh well. Other than that the material is great, warm, and the liner is nice on those cold days. I love the look, the fit,and the lightweight material.
