Marmot Scree Softshell Pant - Men's

Ultralight, ultra-breathable M3 Softshell fabric makes the Marmot Men's Scree Pants a solid choice for fast-moving days in the mountains. Everyone from alpine climbers to backcountry skiers have come to appreciate the performance of these pants' breathability when the going gets fast and overheating becomes a major concern. The Scree Pants hold off moderate snow and dry quickly if you get them wet. Wear these Marmot softshell pants alone in mild weather, or wear them under your waterproof shells to battle burly conditions.

Bottom Line: Pull on the Marmot Scree Pants and travel fast in the mountains while their excellent breathability keeps you comfortable.

Love em

I've been scrambling through both talus and scree and stopped numerous times thinking I ripped em, but they've held up perfectly. I'm a size 33x32 and a large is the perfect length but a little loose around the waste. It'd be nice if it came with a built in belt, but this isn't a huge issue. Overall, very satisfied!

How does Marmot's M3 fabric compare with Polartec PowerShield...

How does Marmot's M3 fabric compare with Polartec PowerShield fabric? Which is more breathable? Which repels snow better? Which repels wind better?

Flag

The M3 fabric on the Scree pant won't be as wind resistant or as warm as the powershield fabric, but should be more breathable and stretchy than powershield.

Tough Pants

They are super comfortable and fit great. Wore them rock climbing and was worried about them tearing, but I took a good fall and didn't even scratch them.

Like these a lot, very nice for the price, as i have other softshell pants costing 3x as much. Took these cool weather hiking and loved them, breathe well, comfortable fit, and good mobility. Can't wait for winter to use them mountaineering!

Great pants for a close fit.

The M3 Softshell is great stuff, feels good and stretches well, while also providing abrasion resistance. I ordered a large based on the sizing for weight, but should have stuck with my usual medium. The fit seems true to one's regular size. The pants should fit not too loose, not very snug but close-fitting. The stretch is there for ease of movement without the need for extra material. Too bad I need to return, I think they would be great pants for hiking in high country.
