Marmot PreCip Pant - Men's
Marmot Men's PreCip Pants keep you dry and comfortable in any weather event short of a hurricane. If there's even a 1% chance of rain, you should have a pair of these rain pants with you. They weigh only 7oz and take up almost zero space in your pack, so you have no excuse for leaving them behind. The PreCip Pants are fully seam taped, creating a barrier with the waterproof PreCip fabric that no amount of outside moisture can penetrate. Stay happy and dry in the PreCip Pants.
Bottom Line: Carry the lightweight, waterproof PreCip Pants, and you'll never have to wait for the weather to clear up.

I brought these pants with me to Patagonia and they soaked through, after an hour or so in the rain and left me cold. The zippers are not protected in any way and the seems are not sealed very well. Also, do not buy these for any serious hiking or outdoor activity, they simply are not thick enough. They may be good for city wear. Very light however.

Great companion to the Precip jacket, even colored coordinated, if that's your thing. Keeps rain off pants & bottoms dry. Boots need to be removed to put pants on, where the full-zip version eliminates that step. Lightweight & small enough to stash, along with the jacket, in a small outer pocket. I don't go backpacking without them.

The Marmot PreCip Men's Pant is fantastic. I bought one from this site and have used several times recently in storm weather. It kept me completely dry and worked exceeding my expectation. The pants is very light in weight and highly packable. It also fits well and comfortable. Recommend!!!

Waterproof, true to size, and the zippers are well placed. I wish I would have gotten the full zip, but do what works for you. Great ski pant also, super light, no bulk. Snag it for sure!

It does exactly what I bought it to do, keep out water and let out heat. If you're going to be wearing it under any kind of chilly conditions, you'll need another layer.

I have yet to test these on the trail but I would say they run a little large.
You guys were quick to send me a replacement in a smaller size.

I am a 38 year old window cleaner who
power washes residential properties. I
have been wearing Precip pants for 4-5
years. My first pair saw approx. 300
days of hard use, climbing ladders and
rooflines. They are still in use, as I
gave them to a young co-worker. Acid
stains and all, they are still service-
able. My new pair will see double-duty
as early season duck hunting pants, as
Minnesota in October, gets warmer and
GREENER every year! Wash and dry these
PreCip products as instructed. Keep them
clean in between uses, and they'll pay
for themselves over and over.

The pants are lightweight but run large. I had to return mine for a medium size. Other than that, no problem.

8 days on the West Highland Way in late May/early June of 2007 and the Marmot Precip Pants functioned admirably. The only drawback was getting them on and off with my hiking shoes on. If Marmot would install a longer side-zip, I would be more than happy with the product.

These pants aren’t nearly as exciting as new skis or a cool back pack, but they're a vast improvement over my old plastic pants. They are light weight, comfortable, and very packable. I wish the pockets were a little deeper and the zippers on the legs were a little longer. Longer leg zippers would ease getting them on and off while paddling a canoe. Potential buyers should also be aware that these pants are not insulated. Again, there’s nothing very exciting about rain gear, but Marmot PreCip is quality stuff for a decent price.

These pants do a great job of keeping water out. Not only are they good for rain storms, they are also great for keeping water from morning condensation in brush from running into boots. The fabric on these is quit durable and in many miles of use through tundra and bushwhacking I have yet to tear them. I am sure I could destroy these if I tried but what's the point in that. I would highly recommend these pants as they are super light and well worth having. My only complaint would be that they could be a bit roomier as they are a little bit restrictive if using an extended stride.

The Marmot PreCip pants seem to get a lot of very favorable press. I purchased both the pants and the jacket, for my primary rain gear and as an insulating base-layer (if required). My initial experience with the pants was not favorable. Although the pants are lightweight, and pack nicely - I'm not convinced that my hiking style and build is ideally suited for the construction and fabric choice used for the pants. After hiking about 20 miles (in rain), I had an actual 'blow-out' in the crotch-area of the pants. Both the coating and the fabric had worn through. The good news was this site stands behind their customers and provided me with a very fast replacement. I have not put the replacement pair through its paces yet - but am currently wearing a slightly heavier and more robust 'Columbia' pair.

Spent 48 straight hours in the rain in Arkansas and these bad boys held up the whole way. I'd definately recommend them. They're lightweight and very breathable...a valuable piece of rain gear.
