Marmot PreCip Jacket - Women's
The Marmot Women's PreCip Jacket is legendary. It protects you from Mother Nature's wiles with lightweight waterproof Precip fabric, and it's so light and packable, it won't take up much space in your backpack as a just-in-case shell. Marmot's Angel Wing Movement gives you plenty of room in the arms and chest and a women's specific fit prevents that boxy look. Underarm vents circulate air to keep you cool, and an adjustable hood provides shelter when you need to batten down the hatches.
Bottom Line: Leave second-guessing to the weatherman—always take along this perennial favorite.

This is a great rain jacket. It is very durable, and stays waterproof. Jacket fits true to size.

this is a great jacket, lots of pockets and very light. I stuff mine in a little sandwich bag for storage in my pack. the fit is really nice. can add some warmth but the pit zips are nice for that.

I liked the jacket, liked the sunny yellow color, but the hood is just too shallow to cover your face for when a downpour really does occur. Super light weight though so maybe it would be great for somewhere that it is just damp or having a small amount of precip.

That silky smmmooooth Nylon. Feels soooo goood. But seriously. It is very water tight and looks so nice on my bride. She gleams when she wore it the other weak. I like it too.

Was a good purchase. It's a little warm -but given how cool it is here in Maine, I doubt that it will be an issue much. Keeps me dry as I load kids into car.

It's been a wet spring here in Jackson Hole, so I've had plenty of opportunities to put my jacket to use. Overall, I'm very pleased with it - it's very lightweight, packable, attractive, and of course great at keeping me dry. I would agree that the hood is a little small, but it hasn't been a major issue for me. I usually wear a medium, so that's the size jacket I purchased and it is definitely roomy enough to layer over a fleece or hoodie. If you want a slim fit, I might recommend a smaller size.

This jacket is great for spring/summer wet days. It will keep you dry when it's raining out and it also compliments the female figure. I bought the fire color and it is a nice, bright red. It is also very lightweight and compact, which is great for stowing in your bag when you don't need it. If you're looking for something with insulation however, this jacket doesn't have it. I wouldn't recommend it for cold/wet days but for those warm/wet days you often find this time of year.

As some of the other people have mentioned, the hood is definitely not big enough to provide adequate protection, but it has been a good jacket in all other aspects. The pockets are large and the jacket has a nice shape to it - doesn't make you look "boxy". I bought it in the red and the color is really nice. I have worn it numerous times in the rain since I received it and it does a great job keeping me dry. Overall, I am happy with the purchase.

Super lightweight, I can pack it up into a tiny ball and even fit it in my purse! Great fit- much more of a feminine fit than the North Face and Helly Hansen rain jackets I tried on. Love this jacket.. definitely worth the money.

I love everything about this jacket except the hood. It doesn't cover well enough and falls back off my head too often. I prefer an Arc'Teryx where I feel really covered.

I haven't tested the jacket in the rain yet, but it looks wonderful. It packs real small and is very well constructed. And I love the lemon color!

I actually bought this jacket for an upcoming trip to the Pacific NW and Alaska, but have worn it during a couple of rainstorms here and it's kept me dry so far. It's very light and breathable.

I was very excited to have recieved my new rain coat. I enjoy using it. I have broad shoulders and this brand has just the right sizing.
The arms length was just right, I like how I can tighten the bottom hem with the pull cord to stop drafts.
I am very satisfied with the online help and suggestions the reps offered during my online shopping experience, I will shop here again.

Love this jacket. I got it in peridot and the color is awesome! Fits very well and is hour glass shaped and longer than other jackets I tried before purchasing this one.

I live in Vancouver, BC and it pours with rain for about 6 months of the year (all winter). That's the bonus of living in a rainforest, but having good rain gear is super important. This might be the best rain jacket I've ever owned. Light, well-cut, folds into it's own pocket, pitzips and excellent, non-clammy breathable totally waterproof - it's been great! The sizing is quite accurate and is cut to fit over a fleece or softshell (since the jacket is really light).

As a Colorado native, you learn to be prepared for any type of weather any time of year. This means anything from wearing shorts to shovel snow, from breaking out the fleece in mid July. I brought my conveniently stowed PreCip jacket to a concert this summer at Red Rocks, despite the cloudless day. A California couple even laughed when I said I was packing my raincoat in my handbag. However, before Modest Mouse came on we found ourselves in the middle of a downpour. Thanks to the PreCip, I was able to stay dry enough(on top at least) to remain in the venue, and even able to move down closer to the stage while less prepared mouse fans were forced to seek shelter. I have also used this jacket during hikes or walks across campus during a sudden Colorado storm. I highly recommend it to anyone who likes to remain dry!

I love this jacket - it's light enough and packs small enough to carry on every trip into the mountains. The cut and fit are great as well, and it's pretty true to size. I wish there was another pocket or two, and I wish it were a little beefier, but I guess that's what I get for the low weight and price - overall it's a great value and I'd recommend it.

I bought this jacket for myself and then bought one for my mom. She loves it and so do I. Lightweight, great sized pockets, waterproof, and wind resistant. In cooler weather I add a zip-up hoodie under the jacket and I'm ready to go. It's a must have! Thanks Marmot!

This jacket was bought or the g/f b/c she loved mine so much. It is great - you don't get much of a clammy sticky feeling while wearing it. The water beads off great and with the pit zips keeps you cool inside and with so many pockets you can keep all your stuff close at hand and dry. Great build quality as well

For regular hiking or walking in the rain, this jacket is a dream which I love. However, for scrambles in torrential downpours I found that I still got drenched. In fact, my fellow hikers who had used .89 cent emergency clear ponchos purchased at walmart were drier than I was. No matter how tightly I pulled the jacket around me water still seeped up at the waist causing anything I had stored in the mesh pockets to become wet.
Also, although it is fairly light-weight I wish it stored smaller than it does or perhaps came with a little pouch. Otherwise, I really love this jacket and am very happy with my purchase.

Got this jacket yesterday just before a downpour. It kept me dry while I was out walking my dog for what seemed like forever. Only wish I'd had the pants, too!

I bought this rain jacket to take with me on a spring break trip to Greece and Italy, and I am so glad I did! It not only rained but poured for a few days while I was there. This jacket kept me dry the entire time, and I would highly recommend it to anyone shopping for a rain jacket.

when rain falls on this jacket, it does NOT repell water. The rain drop damps the surface and the moisture goes through and the inside of the jacket is damp also.
This is my experience in light rain weather. I feel cheated.

Jacket is very cute and keeps the rain out. The only negative is the the hood doesn't stay on very firmly in windy conditions, even with the drawstring.

After a few washings (3) my jacket lost it's water repellency, and now I have to use a silicone spray to get the water to bead up and roll off. The white liner inside near the hood is tearing too. Not happy at all with this jacket.

I am a river guide, and I love this jacket. I wear it through any rain storm we get, and even through the rapids. It is easy to move in and I don't feel like I'm restricted. I can keep doing my job even in the worst storms.

I recently purchased this jacket prior to my trip to Ireland, where there are inevitable daily showers, either passing or day-long. It performed amazingly in all kinds of conditions. It looks well enough to wear out in the evening, but is equally suited to the rougher conditions of being on a farm, and climbing along 2,000 foot sea cliffs with blustery winds and precipitation. Overall, very impressed. I never felt a drop of water pass through the jacket. It's a staple worth having.

We are enjoying our new Marmot rain gear. As a matter of fact, we just ordered a second jacket, as a work jacket, for my husband as his work often requires him to be outside rain or shine. We live in SE Alaska and receive NO LESS than 12 feet of rain a year, sometimes a simple dog walk requires a full suit of gear; so great gear is important if we are to enjoy the outdoors. I just recommended Marmot to our neighbor who was searching for light, comfortable rain gear.

I used this jacket for the first time this weekend and really enjoyed it. I stayed warm but not too warm and it fit fairly well. I have long arms and found that it was a tad short in the arm but fit well everywhere else. The water just rolled off, I hope it stays that way for a couple of years. I also stayed bone dry. The best part was that it dried up really quickly. Pretty good jacket!

The jacket was purchased for a petite woman who needed a waterproof shell that is light and packable. The jacket fits perfectly (size XS), is well made and has worked out very well in rainy conditions.

This little rain jacket was a great purchase. It is extremely light and packable. It has survived downpour after downpour. And best of all the fit is great, and it's incredibly cute. For the price you can't go wrong.

The PreCip jacket is especially nice for those of us who are starting to have hot flashes. The pit zips are a must for any jacket now and this one is great and still rather compact.

The features are good but the cut is very skimpy. I am always a small, but this small didn't leave room for a long-sleeve shirt or even a thin fleece under it. Too short, too narrow in the sleeve, too narrow in the torso.

What I wanted was a lightweight, weather-resistant durable jacket. That is exactly what I got with the Marmot PreCip. I've always found Marmot gear to fit well (functional with a feminine look) and wear well. In the rain, the jacket keeps me dry without ever making me feel clammy or sticky. I would recommend it to anyone!

I actually bought the jacket and pants for a friend for Christmas. I tried them on and the fit is awesome. I bought them for her to use golfing. I know she'll like them. As for the waterproof, we'll have to wait for spring to try that out. I live in Michigan.
