The Men's PreCip Traveler Jacket is a sophisticated, city-conscious redesign of Marmot's award-winning ubiquitous rain shell. Equally at home on the streets of Manhattan as it is in the mountains of Scotland, the PreCip Traveler features the same fully-taped seams, Dry Touch interior, and convenient packability that made its predecessor famous. To make it urban-friendly, Marmot added extra length, a square-shouldered overcoat cut, and soft DriClime fabric around the neck and inside the pockets. would this bee a good jacket for ball games and backpacking or is it too long. I like that it may cover my butt for sitting down.

Hey Spencer, this is going to be a great jacket for ball games, and when it comes to backpacking it is really personal preference. This jacket is going to come down past your butt for sitting. That might be annoying for backpacking ... walking up hill wont be able to take as long strides. Just remember that BC has an awesome return policy. If you don't like it now or in 30 years you can return it no questions asked
