Lowa Jannu Lo Hiking Shoe - Women's
The Lowa Women's Jannu Lo Hiking Shoes give you the stability, traction, and comfort to cruise down the trail. Outside Magazine was so impressed, it gave this lightweight hiker their coveted 2006 Gear of the Year Award—and we can see why. The Jannu Lo Lady Shoes feature Lowa's proprietary SPS system. This midsole system prevents over-pronation and supination to reduce fatigue, support your knees and legs, and make shouldering a heavy pack a bit more bearable. Meanwhile, a close-to-foot fit, low-profile design, and supportive EVA midsole create an incredibly stable hiking shoe that's comfortable for the long haul. These Lowa trekking shoes have split leather/Cordura uppers for durability and low-cut Vibram Pinto soles for traction over all types of terrain.
Bottom Line: Lace up the lightweight, stable, and comfortable Lowa Jannu Lo Lady Hiking Shoes and trek deep into the backcountry.

They are not waterproof, as they are not Gore-Tex lined.

I ordered these shoes based on their "Gear of the Year 2006 Award" and WOW!! I have never had a pair of shoes that did not need to be broken in - until these. They are absolutely amazing! So comfortable. I have had Merrels before and they gave me horrible blisters the first time I worse them. If you have had this problem with other shoes, I highly recommend these Lowas!

Great Shoes

These are some of the best shoes out there. They are leather lined with a stiff sole. It is hard to find a non GTX hiking shoe. Just finished a five day hike in the Bear Tooths and they held up just fine. No Blisters out of the box- a first. Very strong and sturdy shoes. The sizes are a little off- check the European size. They have held up better than other Lowas and have a better sole than the the Tempest Lo and the width is good for a medium to a wider foot-It is a true hiking shoe. (The upper will take on water -some kind of protection may be needed?)

I've got normal-to-narrow midfoot, and an extremely narrow heel and ankles; has anyone else with this foot configuration tried these out?

Check La Sportiva? They will make narrower shoes/boots. Also Vasque makes narrower shoes. Check out the Vasque Breeze in a narrow. Keen is wide in the heel. Merrell -Canteen is a narrower boot. One last idea... boots will hold to your heel better than a hiking shoe.

Recommend for achilles problems

These are the only shoes I can wear because of problems with my achilles. All other shoes, hiking or otherwise, put pressure on my achilles making it impossible for me to wear them. I'm glad I found some colors besides blue because I wear them everywhere that flip flops and boots aren't appropriate.
no. one width only.
