Line Chronic Wide Alpine Ski - 2005
The Line Chronic Wide Alpine Ski is one burly park ski that performs in big-mountain settings as well. Built just like the Chronic but with an additional 2mm at the tip, 6mm at the waist, and 8mm at the tail, the Wide lets you take your jibbing junkshow to the backcountry without hesitation. Three-foot dump closed the park? You're stoked you're standing on the Chronic Wide. Made of tough Canadian maple Macroblock, the Chronic has beefed-up base and edge material for added impact resistance. A carbon fiber Ollieband resists compression, giving the ski more snap and you a more powerful boost. Taking off, landing, or corking through the air, the Real Twin tip and progressive stance give you spinning confidence and switch precision. The stiff flex of the Chronic makes it ideal for icy pipe shredding and will also perform well on hairball steeps.
Bottom Line: You need the Chronic, and you need it Wide.

Kick ass ski. I first used in Salt Lake back in March '06 for a week of backcountry and park poundage. Its width is great for park, makes for much smoother, more stable landings. It feels a whole lot more comfortable to stomp those kickers. It even held its own in 3' pow, although it did take a little more work, but then its not a super fat made for that so its forgiven. It handles great in the chop and the groomers as well, no noodle here this thing is stiff. This ski is sweet, I had a great time carving in the open and bouncing turns down the backcountry steeps. Highly recommended for the All-mountain/backcountry freestyler.
