Lafuma Elektron Trail Running Shoe - Men's

Charge along the trail with the Lafuma Men's Elektron Trail Running Shoes on your feet. These lightweight trail runners with breathable mesh and synthetic uppers feature Lafuma's Twin Lace system, so you can get a precise, non-slip fit on both the lower and upper part of your feet. Gusseted tongues on the Elektrons prevent dirt, pebbles, and twigs from getting into your shoes, and grippy outsoles keep you upright on varied terrain.

Bottom Line: Move like a free electron in a vacuum—or, OK, maybe a bit slower, but not much—when you wear the Elektron Trail Runners.

These shoes finished the JMT, not entirely unscathed though ...

I love Lafumas line of shoes, and in particular the twin lace system. I used these shoes for a 14 day trek on the John Muir Trail earlier this summer. I would give the shoes 5 stars, but there were a few robustness issues. Foremost, after about 80 miles of hiking, one of the side straps that the twin lace is held in place by came undone, resulting in a quick 15 minute fix using a needle and some fishing line. Secondly, the mesh itself ripped when I caught the toe of my shoe on some rocks, and had to sew that up as well. So, probably not the shoe to be taking on such a hike as the JMT, but still great lightweight trail runners. They're super comfortable, and I had no issues with sizing (other than ordering a full size larger, but mainly because your feet swell when you hike 14 days in a row.) I'm about to reorder another pair, and will get a normal size. I would consider my feet to be slightly wide.

How's the sizing on these? Are they on the narrow side? Any other detail regarding fit would be appreciated.

I found the fit to be great, no issues with narrow width. Normal width feels great.

Foremost, I have to say that I absolutely love the twin lace system, as it gives me a better fit than I've ever found in a hiking/running shoe. These shoes, following the previous twin lace models, fit great, and are adjustable for various foot types. They're lightweight as well, and I used them for a 14 day hike of the John Muir Trail this summer. I would only give them a B- for durability, however. One side strap came unstitched partway through my hike, leaving me up at night restitching it with fishing line. Later, I accidentally caught the top of the forefoot on a rock edge, and simply ripped right through the mesh. Once again, another evening stitching. Despite all of this, I finished my hike with the franken-shoes, and these were on my feet for about 200 of those 220 miles.

Hello, Lafuma footwear is made in Vietnam.

Well they may be made in Vietnam like many other brands, however Lefuma is a French outdoor gear company. The product is good.
