I have my down bags professionally cleaned. More costly but well worth it. If you must wash your bag at home, use ONLY a front loading washer, on the gentlest setting, using special down soap. Tumble AIR dry, periodically breaking up the wet clumps of down that will develop. Finish by line drying, preferably outdoors. MAKE SURE NOT TO CARRY YOUR BAG WHEN IT'S WET UNLESS TOTALLY SUPPORTED OR YOU COULD TEAR OUT THE INTERNAL BAFFLES! Wet down is heavy.

great bag, but men's and women's models are of different length

Great, lightweight, very compact bag (and well-thought stuff sack makes it very easy to compact it). We bought two bags with different side zippers, and were very warm and comfortable. Couldn't decide on a color, so we took two different ones, and it turned out that blue-gray bag was women's (which wasn't mentioned in the description), and it's constructions is a little different from men's model - it has a huge pocket at the legs, while men's has a small one near the top entrance. Another thing not mentioned in the description was that women's bag is actually 178cm while men's is 183. My wife complained that her bag feels much shorter to her than mine. At first we thought that it was because she occasionally put her legs into the big pocket, but when we came home i took a look at the tags and it turned out that the bag is actually smaller. But other than that we didn't run into any problems, and the length was still enough to accommodate us. Great bag in general, and unbeatable for the price.

Nice Bag

By:
August 3, 2008

I took this bag up to around 11,000' in the beginning of August, where the temps unexpectedly dropped to the mid 30's during the night. I threw on an extra layer and was fine for the whole night. As another review said, when you touch sides of the tent there's lots of heat loss. Only sleeping on a 3/4 pad, my feet were at first cold until I threw the lid of my pack under them. The bag is incredibly light weight and packs down really small. For the price, you can't beat it.

light and small!

The light weight and small bulk of these sleeping bags can't be beat. Using a left-zip and right-zip together, we were nice and toasty even when camped at high elevation, below the recommended temperature rating. But the sleeping bags are quite thin and we had to learn (the hard way) to keep them completely out of contact with the sides of our tent; even a little contact at our feet caused noticeable heat loss.

Wonderful

Just got back from a last minute weekend at Red River Gorge, and I couldn't be happier with this bag. Wanted something light and warm, and this bag was the perfect fit. Even though our trip had a surprise rainstorm and got a bit cold out for this time of year, this bag was a champ. Packs up super small and is warmer than I expected. I'm not a huge fan of the stuff sack, though.

Great! Superlight and effective at rated temperature

I just hiked down the Grand Canyon with this sleeping bag. Not only is it ultralight at 1lb 5oz, but it kept me warm when the temperature suddenly dropped to 40F when it rained one night. Do try to use a sleeping pad with it as it's not very thick. You can't have everything, right?

Good product

I got this bag for light travel. When I travel internationally I have had trouble with accommodation. (No AC/heating, living in temporary setup tents/trailers etc.). I think this bag will work out great. The bag feels nice and is easy to carry and pack, very happy with the purchase.
