The Kelty Red Cloud Backpack combines features, comfort, and value for weeklong recreational backpacking. The adjustable Red Cloud fits a multitude of body shapes and heights. Ample padding on the hip-belt, back panel, and shoulder straps ensure a comfortable carry and help support heavy loads. The Red Cloud's large main compartment holds the bulk of your gear, and the various smaller side, front, and interior pockets help keep smaller items organized. Hey all, I'm brand new pup to all of this. I'm starting to plan an extended trip to begin in about 6months. I would like to be able to live out of a pack in wilderness and urban settings. I've traveled before but never like this. I'm looking for any and all tips on: gear, destinations, travel habits... you name I want to know. Or if there is a good book/website that I can use as a resource. Thanks.

No, it's not a heavy duty pack. It's for loads under 60lbs.

I got this pack at 12 or 13 and used it until just a few years ago (about 10 years of use) It is quite adjustable for growth, and will carry anything worth carrying unless they start to specialize in a certain sport.
