Kelty Camp Chair

You're looking for a portable, lightweight camping chair, not one with a built-in refrigerator and dining table. Something simple and comfortable. Grab Kelty's Camp Chair. Webb pulls on the sides let you adjust the angle of the Camp Chair's seat position, the closed-cell foam creates a comfy cushion between you and the ground, and a mesh pocket holds sunscreen and a book. Carry handles make it easy to bring this Kelty chair to sport events.

Bottom Line: Bring the Kelty Camp Chair on camping trips, road trips, and to outdoor concerts.

Not the best, but lightweight

This Kelty chair does the job for me cuz I'm a wee 108 lbs. The construction has no detectable flaws, and I really appreciate the mesh pocket on the back as additional exterior storage during backpacking. However, the actual materials are flimsy and I wouldn't trust it for anyone over 120lbs. For the price and weight, I'm keeping it for backpacking and stadiums.

Poorly made

I love the concept of these chairs and I've had versions before that used my thermarest as the back and leg support but this one was a big disappointment. Why? If you look at the picture of the chair, you can see two long thin, padded seams running along the side of the chair, yes? These have plastic 'spines" in them for support. Well, not far into my first camping excursion with these chairs, the front edge of long, thin pocket of that seam ripped and the plastic spine poked right thru. That area needs to be reinforced seriously to resist the pressure that the spine exerts on the stitching. I could see the spine vigorously poking that area whenever someone sat in the chair. Once the spine breaks through, the chair loses it's structural integrity and is far less comfortable Plus the spine tarted scratching my leg every time I sat down. Lest anyone think I might have exceed the weight limit for these chairs (is there one? ) I'm about 5'7" and 155 lbs. Hardly atypical for an expected user of these things. I'm really surprised that a flaw like this showed up in a Kelty design. I've been impressed with previous products of theirs in the past and expected the same from these chairs. At least this site rocks with respect to returns. I've sent these things back and will keep looking for a lightweight, comfortable camp chair.
