Kelty Grand Mesa 4 Tent 4-Person 3-Season

Carry one tent between the four of you when you backpack with the Kelty Grand Mesa 4 Tent. This four-person, three-season Kelty tent gives you a solid shelter in the woods without your needing to empty your savings account. With two strong poles to clip to the Grand Mesa 4 Tent, setup is easy, and with 53 square feet of floor space, the four of you will sleep comfortably. If the weather turns sketchy, the waterproof rain fly has you covered and gives you almost 20 square feet of vestibule space for your backpacks and muddy hiking boots. On a warm day, open the window and door—mesh keeps the bugs out yet it lets the gentle breeze blow through.

Bottom Line: Pack the Kelty Grand Mesa 4 Tent for your three-season backcountry adventures with family or friends.

worked great in Hell's Canyon

By: thehodgpod2083655(1)

This tent worked great on our four day trip in Hell's Canyon. It's size to weight ratio was good, it was super easy to set up, and the rain fly was outstanding. We did wish there was more screen on the tent as we had some condensation on the inside from not enough ventilation, but that is a minor point. Overall, it rates high on price, weight, performance, and set up. Great tent!

What is the interior height? I live in Canada. Will there be any duties or other fees?

Interior height is listed as 140cm (or 55in)

I would call the 800# listed at the top of the page for shipping specifics... talking to real people is usually more effective than leaving questions on comment boards.

Awesome time on A.T.

By: Anonymous(1)

I purchased this tent for a four day trip on the A.T. It is very easy to put up even in the rain. I did purchase the footprint for it as well which I would suggest to anyomne hiking or camping in rocky terrain just for added wear and tear. The tent was very quick to dry out after it rained the first night. It was a little tight for four people and their gear. One of our team members is very tall and we had to lay long ways in the tent other then that it was great.

Grand Mesa qualities

I used the grand mesa 4 person tent for a week in the Wind River range in Wyoming with my family, and it held up really well. I selected this tent because of the low weight/good space for backpacking. It was easy to setup, and withstood nightly thunderstorms with hail and strong gusty winds. The material is kind of thin, but that's what makes it lighter to carry. I used a plastic sheet for my ground cloth which will help extend the life of the tent. Decent tent for the money.

Nice but scary

This is a nice overall tent but could be a big problem in 2 scenarios: 1. It's raining when you want to set it up or break it down. It's wide open without the (excellent rain fly). 2. The "bathtub" floor is awful thin. I can't image it lasting too many trips until it develops holes, and, if it rains hard, the floor will probably develop a lot of condensation. If you're going to spend $ like I did, you might want to see if there is anything similar that doesn't have these potential problems.
