Kelty Teton 2 Tent 2-Person 3-Season
A Kelty Teton 2 is an affordable way for two backpackers to get some sleep. This sturdy little tent lets you share personal space with your camping companion. Made with Kelty's ArcEdge construction, the Teton 2 stands strong when faced with strong winds. Plenty of ventilation and a mesh ceiling stop moisture from building up and gives each of you lots of fresh air. Color-coded clips let you quickly set-up this little wonder and get on to more important things, like cooking dinner and sitting around the fire.
Bottom Line: You carry the tent and I'll carry the food.

amazing tent for the price

I spent about 3 months debating on whether or not I should get this tent and I'm glad I went with this one and not something else. It was easy to set up by myself and there was plenty of room for 2 of us inside the tent. The vestibule was a bit small and I could see that being a problem if you were backpacking and had 2 people's gear to fit there. It stormed badly the first time I used it and had no problems with it leaking and it dried out fairly quickly afterwards.

took this tent out backpacking in the sand dunes of west Michigan. Hiking through sand is tiring by itself without any added weight. This tent was perfect. It's extremely light and compact. It fit perfectly in my overnight pack and was very simple to set up. Luckily we didn't have to test it in stormy conditions but it was perfect for a beautiful summer evening on the beach. I'm 6', 175 lbs my girlfriend is 5'5, 115 lb's and we fit very comfortably. There's plenty of headroom and the large meshed overhead keeps away the claustrophobic feeling. I have a feeling this tent would feel a lot less roomy with the rain fly on but what tent doesn't. The stakes and poles are quality and unless you're going out on the tundra you won't need better stakes. I'll probably be vacuuming sand out of it for the next several months but for the price you can't find a better tent.

The fly is fully seam sealed and the exposed walls are watertight. You should stay nice and dry in this tent.

Terrific value in a tent-a little short for 6'1

I bought this as a solo tent because of the weight and the fact that kelty usually makes a solid product (also have a gunnison 2.1-great tent!). when it arrived, i found it was everything i needed...but my feet and head lightly touched the end walls when in my sleeping bag. wet bag= no bueno. SOLUTION: the fly that runs high up on the ends is guyed-out dead center- i sewed a tab of doubled over web-strap to the outside of the tent body right where the dark floor meets the light body. used a length of 1/8" shock cord and tied a short loop through the tab and out to the guy line (very modest tension, without depressing the angle of the guy line much). this pulled the end walls out just enough for plenty of head and foot room-problem solved! a little seam seal on the tab i sewed and then tested it on a windy day for a few hours under the sprinkler-no leaks. hey, for just over a hundred bucks-why not!

The Lightpath 2 and Teton 2 are two different animals. The Teton 2 is free standing and your entry is from the side. The Lightpath is not free standing and the entry is on the end. Although you lose some vestibule space with the Teton, you gain some livable space with a little more head room and a bit more floor space. You should have plenty of space for your gear in this tent.

This tent is bulletproof. I have hauled this tent all over creation and back, through thunderstorms, steady pouring rain, 100 degree temp and everything in between. I have never been wet, i have never wished the tent was lighter, the tent goes up in 2 minutes flat and is comfortable for two people to sleep with small necessities kept inside. The vestibule is great for storing wet boots, and the like. Low weight, ease of use, durability, and superior construction makes this tent great.

This is the first tent I've owned. I'm not a gearhead, but I did my research, and this came in at the top of every list I made.
It's lightweight and an absolute breeze to set up (I try making everything without directions first), rain shield also. I can't really say much about ventilation; the couple of times I've had it out, it's served as a gear tent only. I can, however, swear on it's waterproofing. The first day out, it was rained on, hailed on, treed on and there was not a drop of water anywhere.
I like that the door was up off of the group a bit. That aided unbelievably in all the mud and sludge the Teton ended up sitting in. I'm a smaller person, so I didn't have any problems getting in or out of it.
I can't wait to get this thing out and play more!

Rained Out

My wife and i spent two weeks in the adirondacks and it rained for the first four days out.Wind was high. This tent set up so quick and was light as a feather.I was a bit concerned even with the ventilation the tent offers as it was a bit tight and we seemed to be up against the walls most of the time witch seemed to have quite a bit of condensation on them witch got our bags a bit wet.Other than the an over all great tent for the money.Very light easy set up and very nice in fair conditions as for extended rain i would choose a diffrent tent next time though.

I finally had to replace my Kelty Riverbend2 and went right back to Kelty. Seems like a drop-off in quality and I wasn't too excited about this tent. Size is fine. Ventilation was very good. Setup was a breeze and it was very light. However...it was a harsher, louder material than my last tent and I wasn't excited about the door design, which is small and the bottom of which was a bit high off the ground. honestly it's a bit of a contortion to get in and out when the fly is in place. Seemed tightly made (though it didn't rain) and overall okay, just not as nice as I was hoping from the brand. Condensation definitely built up around my feet and gear at the base of the tent. Maybe I'm out of touch with the current state of tents...okay for the money but I wanted more. Instructions for setting up with the footprint were inadequate and I felt like I was guessing. All in all though, I did sleep well.
I own a Kelty Teton 2 tent. We lost the rainfly and the poles.

Wow. So much tent for so little money! This tent is not made for heavy use, pounding rain and sleet or gusty winds, but it worked in all of those conditions and did a fine job. Space is adequate for two with enough headroom, and Kelty added a free gear loft (though cheap). The tent is very light, but only has a small vestibule (7 feet sq) and a single wall/double wall construction. It comes with guylines, which helps make it taut and ventilate well, but a combination of water and gusting wind allowed water through the underside of the fly. Overall, though it is a great tent for the money. It is probably the cheapest tent with aluminum poles on the market and it was perfect for a college student with a very tight budget. Kudos to Kelty!

The tent is light, compact and easy to set up. Very easy! Air movement inside is wonderful and the vestibule is great for keeping boots or packs dry. It hasn't rained while I've been using it, but I can see a possible problem with the rain fly. It comes up too short so during the night if you touch the side of the tent youre going to get wet. I would personally prefer more fly coverage, but nothing is perfect. However, this is the next thing to perfection.

This tent is really light, easy to set up and I think a good value for the money. It's well made and has good ventilation. It's a little cramped with 2 people and gear.
Kelty Teton 2 is a Solid tent

My previous tent was the Kelty Yellowstone, and I'm still trying to figure out what this tent has over that one. They're almost identical in size, though this tent is a bit more narrow. It has plenty of ventilation, but then I never had a problem with my other Kelty tent either. One plus is the dimensions when packed, the Teton packs down under two feet. In the end the KeltyTeton 2 is a very solid tent that comes at a more than decent price for the quality, just like everything else I've bought from Kelty.
Best Tent for the money

Seriously, this is the best tent for the money. Can you buy better tents, I'm quite sure you can but you will have to spend easily 2x or 3x as much. Me and my wife took this tent to Grand Canyon for a 4 day backpacking trip, a week long backpacking trip on High Sierra Trail across Sequoia, even used in winter. We also took it to Yosemite and to JTree on a car camping trip even thought it is a little bit small.
We like it over any bigger tents because it is such a breeze to setup (under 3 minutes). If you are on a week long car camping trip it might not matter but if you are doing weekend trip less time playing around with the tent means more time for other fun stuff.
The tent endured high wind (on top of Mt. Whitney), flooding in Yosemite (didn't leak at all even though tent's floor seemed like water bed), crappy weather in Adirondacks ... and couple of years of regular weekend abuse in Gunks.
Ventilation is quite good, no leaks whatsoever, fast to setup, fairly light and quite cheap. Vestibule could be a little bit bigger, as well as it could be a little roomier. It has its minuses (as mentioned in other reviews) but nothing big. Also if you go camping to some of those crowded campgrounds you don't have to worry that somebody will steal your $400 fancy tent ;-).
IMHO: If you don't want to spend $400+ but this one ...

Got this early last year, and have used it quite extensively in the ADK's and in general use. The key is to get the footprint with it, or the bottom will get wet, other than that, this thing is waterproof to the max.
The price on Backcountry was to good to pass up. I HIGHLY recommend this tent to anyone who is looking for a solid 3 season tent, that doesn't want to break the bank

Great deal for a tent that sleeps two. It is lightweight and has aluminum poles. The only negative aspect of this tent is the ineffectiveness of its rain fly during storms (nothing a trash bag and some duck tape can't fix). A great summer tent because of its open mesh design and effortless set up. For a person on a budget this tent is probably the best buy around.
Great Buy

This is a great tent for the price. First, I was worried it wouldnt stand rain. I read reviews on this and how fly does not cover the whole tent. I used it in the rain and it stands a downpour without any problem (it was not windy though). Good design and enough room inside. Getting into the tent is somehow not very easy, especially for two people.

I purchased this tent for a 2 night trip to Valentine Lake in Mammoth. The tent worked great, took about 3 minutes to set up, and slept 2 adults comfortably. Was able to pick it up and shake it out prior to repacking it, and it carried well. Great purchase.
Got a little wet

This tent was almost perfect, until it rained. The rain fly kept the top of the tent dry, but the floor got wet despite the use of a tarp underneath. I would recommend either buying a footprint that fits exactly, or making sure your tarp is placed perfectly. The floor of the tent is very thin and not very durable.

I've been using this tent for summer camping and it's working out great. Super light and takes no time to set up. Sleeps 2 people comfortably as long as you don't plan on storing a lot of gear inside with you. Haven't needed to use in the rain yet so I have no feedback on the rain fly yet.
