Kasper & Richter built the flip-up Dakar Lensatic Baseplate Compass on a clear baseplate so you can use its military-style lensatic technology together with your map. Adjust the declination of this fluid-filled compass and flip-up the sighting line to orient objects on the horizon and determine your position and bearing. The one-degree-resolution Azimuth scale Dakar Compass gives you circular and triangular cutouts, three map scales, and metric and imperial rulers for accurate map marking and reading. The military still teaches lensatic compass skills in the age of the GPS, and we suggest you carry a compass as well as your GPS.
