K2 Work Stinx Telemark Ski

I have skied these skies at snowbird and the back country all this season and can't think of a better ski.They hold on the groomers and are unreal in the pow. Plus they look great! This was a great snow year,so they got a real good test.Don't think to long,just get a pair.

When your new to telemarking you need something easy to drive. These skis are it! I tried many different skis before purchasing these and the Work Stinx were by far the easiest to handle in varying conditions. Now If I could just keep my body facing downhill. :o)

Overall size and is a dead giveaway on how well these are gonna go in the pow. What was most surprising was the high speed stability on the groomie, far better than what my pinned out Shuksan's could handle. Added bonus is the trippy guitar graphics........so much going on there you may experience a flashback on the lift, possibly leading to a dangerous attack of chairanoia!

I've been riding 2006 Work Stinx since I bougth them and they perform in all conditions. Magic, fast and stable in deep pow, they rip on hard pack, but careful, dont loose the edge, these ski will scare the ... out of you. An all mountain ski that as we say in Québec, capable d'en prendre et d'en donner!

Great all around ski - beefy and stable yet turns on a dime.

Very nice all mountain ski. Previously on an Atomic 190cm TM24, this 181cm K2 is much wider and a bit heavier. Skied all last week at Big Ski/Moonlight Basin in knee powder -- stable, floats, and turns well in powder as compared to the TM24. These K2's pair-up real well with the new Black Diamond O2 All Mountain binding (midstiff). Recommend this ski for more off piste than groomed runs. Plan on taking them into the 10th Mtn Hut System (Benedict Hut) next month.

I disagree with "fat and soft" I'm an east coast telemarker and find the work stinx great on hard pack,powder and any condition in between. With two sheets of metal they have to hold on the hard stuff. I'm 6'2 210 and only ski a 177 so they fit in the tight eastern woods. When I first tried them I thought they skied just like my gold gs skis with the red dampener back in 86! Remember them?

These are great skis in the powder and on the hard pack--in the backcountry and in the ski area. I took 6 skis out for a demo, and I kept coming back to the K2Work Stinx. Backcountry.com should take down that review that says these skis are not good on hard packed snow or at high speeds--that's just wrong. Maybe it's the titanium plate in the construction, but this ski is highly stable and holds and edge like it is on a railroad track. Nothing but smiles when you're on this ski.

The new version of this ski is one of the best tele boards ever made. I have patrolled and guided for over 100 days in sometimes less than perfect conditions and this ski performs really well. It shines in the deep stuff, chews through the stiffest crud and carves like a GS board on all but the firmest of groomers. It is so fast that you will be chasing the ski for the first few days you ski it.

Great ski for almost every condition. Devours powder, but still has enough side cut to handle resort conditions. Love them.

This ski rocks! It’s wide enough to float well in powder and deep snow. Handles hard pack and crud easily. Can be turned easily in the trees as well. Solid all-around fat tele ski.

I am a 5ft 4in 120lb skier and I have skied the 167cm Work Stinx for almost two seasons now. They rock! Obviously not an all conditions ski, but they do well enough in most non-powder conditions that you can ski them after the mountain is tracked out. Groom takes a little finesse but is certainly doable. Although they flex and chatter some as you ride the bases, they tighten up once you put them on edge. A little extra lower leg angle is all that's needed to control them on the groom. Ice is questionable, no big surprise there. I skied the Works thru this summer in the Colorado Mountains. They spank corn, hold their own in crud and can even handle old bulletproof summer snow with some input from the skier. They are pretty soft for the really heavy mank or ice but I have been surprised at how versatile they are. They feel very light underfoot and have a soft snappy flex that makes you feel like a hero in the pow. They are light enough I have toured with them when the conditions warrant. I love these skis!

Terrific skis! Great backcountry ski, especially for skiing deep powder. Skins fit well on skis. Feels much lighter than its dimensions would suggest.

I am going on my second season on the Work Stinx and love them in the Utah backcountry. A very fast turning, wide powder ski that makes it easy to milk each run for the most turns. At the resort, they are great on deep powder days but are too soft for any kind of packed snow. They noodle big time at full speed, leading to painfull, tomohawk style wrecks.

You would expect a fat ski to be good in powder but the Work Stinx holds an edge superbly on the hard stuff, too. I skied this ski for a full season in Utah and was never let down.
