Julbo Instinct Sunglass - Zebra Anti-fog Photochromic Lens

The Julbo Instinct Sunglasses use Zebra photochromic lenses to instantly adapt to the ever-changing lighting conditions in the mountains. They automatically adjust from 59% to 88% light reduction to help you see clearly when you step out of the shadow and into the sun on a knife-edge mountain ridge. Their wrap-around design and long padded arms keep the Instinct Sunglasses in place for fast moving sports like mountain biking and trail running, as well as high-mountain endeavors.

Bottom Line: Julbo Instinct Sunglasses provide optimal lighting conditions to follow your natural drive in the mountains.

Julbo Photochromic

The technology seems to work. Used to have a pair of Oakleys that I used cycling, found that they were just too dark to see well in the trees. These Julbo's do seem to adjust when you enter the shade from the bright light. Haven't used them for skiing yet, but they're just not as dark as the Oakleys were, so the bright light off the snow could be an issue.

Bigger than I thought

I live 2 hours from any Julbo dealer but have owned their products and know of the quality so when I broke my first pair I automatically went back. I ordered these and loved the lenses but the frames were bigger than I liked and so I exchanged them for a different model (the typhoon). I will always use julbo, nothing compares, these just weren't my size.

Great fit + Very good contrast

I was looking for ski glasses that would give me good late-day/flat-light contrast -- these really work well for flat light situations (and they darken for bright conditions). Nearly complete wraparound for medium sized face means good wind protection. No problem with fogging either.

Julbo Instinct Sunglasses

At first these things sounded like a gimmick, but I am really impressed at how well they perform. The anti-fog coating keeps them from getting all steamed up on bike rides (like the Reflex glasses do). The stems are more comfortable than the Reflex sunglasses as well. The color-changing lenses do such a good job that I often forget they’re on and get strange looks when I wear them inside. They don’t get quite dark enough to be used on high-altitude climbs, but my eyes seems to be more sensitive than most.

Great shades

These are great glasses. Great when going from sun to shady areas. Wish they performed a little better in bright sun.
