Ocean Kayak Peekaboo Kayak - 2008

Soak up the sun, claim untouched beaches, and study the underwater world with the Ocean Kayaks Peekaboo Sit-On-Top. This ingenious craft has a viewing window built into the hull, so you can peek at the creatures and flora underneath you as you paddle. With its straight-tracking, stable design and universal fit, the Peekaboo will become a family favorite for quick trips across the harbor, leisurely lake drifting, and even the occasional shore break surf session. A folding, adjustable backrest and rear shock cord over the gear well make the Peekaboo a comfortable cruiser on long day trips, while in-molded footrests, front and rear grab handles, and automatic drainholes give new meaning to the concept of convenience.

Bottom Line: The Peekaboo Sit-On-Top takes the trouble out of boat care, leaving only the fun.

How durable is the little window on the bottom? Does it actually give you a good view? It looks kind of small from the picture.

Is this kayak practical for lakes, creeks and slow moving rivers as well? I've been looking for something that performs adequately well under a wide variety of conditions whether it's a calm bay, a bit of surf, or a landlocked swamp.

Yes its very easy. I have a SOT ocean kayak thats 29.5" inches wide and can easily climb back on in deep water. No need for a paddle float or bilge pump either. When I get out of the kayak is does rock heavily so make sure any belongs are properly secured to prevent them from going overboard.
