Isis Snow Queen Down Coat - Women's
Wrap your body in down warmth from your neck to your knees in the Isis Women's Snow Queen Down Coat. The goose down offers you killer warmth, and removable faux-fur trim on the hood adds urban style. If a storm starts to brew, flip up the zip-off, down-filled hood and cover your noggin in plush warmth. The velvet-lined collar and microfleece-lined hand pockets feel soft against your skin. The long 40.5in length of the Snow Queen Coat adds extra coverage on chilly winter days.
Bottom Line: Sooooo ready for winter.

Awesome Quality and Fit

I am 5'2" and weigh 160lbs and purchased this in size 12. It is very roomy. I purchased it a size larger so that I could wear suits underneath. With my short height, the length of the jacket comes just past my knees. There are small side zippers that give you the freedom to walk and sit while having the front of the jacket zipped up. It also has a 2 way zipper. Both the hood and the fur are detachable, so you can wear it without the fur, or without the hood. The sleeves are slightly long, but that doesn't bother me. There is no way to cinch the sleeves.
There is one small stretchy pocket and a zippered pocked on the inside of the coat. It is pretty lightweight. Like all down jackets, small feathers are working their way out, but that's to be expected. There are small magnets for the exterior pockets and the front flap to keep it shut, which I definitely prefer to velcro which tends to snag my sweaters and knitted gloves.
Overall it is a fabulous jacket and well worth the money.
No they just have it in whats available in the options bar. Once a size is sold out they remove the option immediately

Where I wear the coat: South West Michigan, outside for shorter lengths of time, 5-15 minutes at a time.
my body type: tall (5'10"), fairly slender (137-140 range). My normal pants size is 6 (gap, banana republic, jcrew) Shirt size is medium.
Size I ordered: 10, which was too big, so I returned for 8.
how it fit: the size 8 is still roomy enough for a bulky sweater/sweatshirt underneath. Sleeves were still long enough for my long arms. A 6 probably would have fit me but I'd start being concerned about sleeve length. This coat has a strong A-line, so it is more roomy waist down than up in the shoulder area.
warmth: as I stated, I'm not outside for extended periods of time. In this coat for short periods of time I stay completely warm, especially with the hood up. One great thing is even with the hood down I can feel it behind my neck and it has an extra coziness factor from that.
Other pro's about this coat: the magnetic closures
-the way the hood stays up
- the removability of the hood and/or the faux fur (though I love it and I keep it on)
-machine washable
-length (right around the knee for someone tall)
-zippered size vents (I never use them though)
-light weight
Negatives:
-not really a trim fit
-a teeny bit bulky (though not nearly as bulky as some other coats out there
Other coats i considered: marmot chelsea (limited availability this time of year)

I like this coat, although it is very roomy through the waist. I don't usually wear a sweatshirt underneath it, so it is too roomy for me. I would definitely order a size down. Also, the cuffs on the sleeves are a little loose so they don't seal the air into the coat. That being said, this coat saved me this year when the temperatures were in the 10s with below 0 windchill. With the hood up the coat is a cocoon of warmth and all you need is a pair of heavy gloves. I still get a breeze all the way up to my tush though, so I can't get out of wearing long johns on extra cold days like I had hoped.
However, the magnetic clasps are awesome, the pockets are roomy, and the coat is nice and soft on the skin.

Great coat for a cold winter

I just got this coat for our cold Wisconsin winter and I love it. It fits very well and is well made. It has lots of extra touches - tiny magnets sewn in the seams that help keep the coat together. It is also comfortable and not too heavy. I wear a 4-6 and ordered the 6 and it seems to fit true to size.

I bought this jacket for my mom. She is a hard one to size. She is short, 5'4 and round...(to put it at best) The medium/ 10 fit her perfect! She wanted a nice long down jacket to stand in the cold with, and this is the perfect fit for her. There is still a little room for her to wear long underwear and a nice sweater.

Nice Coat

I live in Michigan so am no stranger to cold weather!
Here are the good points of this coat:
- magnetic closure over the zipper and pockets is a great feature - no snags or dust-bunny mess.
- Nice finishing overall, I ordered a size 14 but I should have gotten a 12 as it's a bit too big but not awfully so.
What I don't like:
- This coat is my 3rd coat purchase in the last 4 months. I've been looking for something that will actually keep me warm. I am not completely uncomfortable in this coat but I am not warm either. I had a Utex down coat that was wonderful, but I think the company is no longer around *sniff*. This is the next best thing in this price range, but I'm not really very satisfied for my $300. I guess I'll have to save up *ages* and get a Canada Down coat. I do wish this coat had a loft/temperature rating...like sleeping bags do.
I'm not sure whether to order a large or medium. I am 5'9"

Well they ship out of Utah, so depending on which type of shipping you choose, it would take anywhere from 2-7 business days.
