Isis Seven Sisters Vest - Women's

Down vests keep you super warm but often look too puffy. The Isis Women's Seven Sisters Vest does the former without the latter. This stylish vest includes 650-fill goose down for core insulation, but its contoured shape shows off your curves. A DWR finish keeps light rain and snow at bay. The velvet-lined collar feels plush against your neck and the drawcord hem blocks out cold wind. I ordered this vest because I loved the softness of the light blue, and because I've been nothing but happy with the black Isis down coat I wear all winter. But after trying it on a few times I noticed the vest's flaw: there's very little differentiation between the cut at the top of the vest -- narrow upper chest area -- and the cut at the bottom of the vest -- wider hip area. As a result, it fit in the hips but swam and gaped under my arms. No go. I opted instead for Mountain Hardwear's Downtown Vest in espresso, which fits like a dream in all the right places.

A well-constructed vest with good lines; bulky fit

I love the lines of this vest; they are very flattering. The starred detailing around the zipper, hidden inner pockets, and a great hand-feel all add to the quality of this vest. However, the fit is really, really big and bulky. I ordered the smallest size, and it's still much too large (I typically wear a size 4/6). If you plan to wear this vest as an outer layer, the bulkiness won't be a big deal. However, if you're looking for something that fits a little more snug, either order WAY down in size, or find another vest. I was sad to return this one, as I loved everything else about it. Almost perfect.

Seven sisters vest

Bought a seven sisters vest for my girlfriend and she would not take it off for days, even in the house! It has many feminine design features: the very stylish cut and lines which look excellent with her jeans; the subtle contrasting starred strip just inside the zipper that is not obvious in the picture; the soft taffeta material. And its all machine washable which was not stated on the literature but is very important. Nothing remotely like this in the UK.
