Integral Designs MK1 XL Tent 2-Person 4-Season

Originally designed as a two-person, four-season tent for an American expedition to climb K2, the Integral Designs MK1 XL was made to be as strong as possible without increasing weight. It survived that trip, so you know its tough enough for your next climb. This single-wall tent weighs only 4lb 12oz and can be set up in seconds. The single-wall design helps the XL pack up in a 20in x 6in package for easy carrying and allows excellent breathability so you don't have too much condensation inside. With a lower profile than the MK1 and eight tie-down points for increased wind resistance, this tent will hold up to the most fierce winter storm. The MK1 XL has enough room for two people, each up to 6ft 3in tall, so you won't feel crammed inside while the mountain is hammering the outside.

Bottom Line: Strong enough for K2, strong enough for you.

nothing better

This is the best tent you can buy for your money, period. Mine has been on mountain sides everywhere from South America to the Cascadest to the Sierras. Big storm on its way, hunker down in your MK1 XL and you'll do fine. Lightweight, very breathable, strong, excellent customere service from Integral Designs - just a great tent.

A Great Cold Weather Tent

By: Milo Durfee(1)

I have owned this tent for 2 years. I have only camped in cold weather. I have had NO condensation problems. I am a pretty big guy and I am not sure there is enough room for another person and me, especially with gear. A vestibule would be helpful, but then that would add more weight. I would recommend this tent for winter camping and mountaineering.
