Icebreaker Superfine Tech T - Men's - 2006
The Icebreaker Superfine Tech T shirt will change the way you look at t-shirts. Woven from Superfine Merino wool, the Tech T is not only lightweight and soft, but durable and machine washable. Wool makes the perfect T because it wicks moisture and won't hold odors.
Bottom Line: Throw all your other t-shirts away, you'll never go back after wearing the Tech T.

You don't want to live without these...

After some initial hesitation - Icebreaker T shirts do not come cheap - I have slowly collected a drawer full of Icebreaker Tech Ts, other Ts, and Ibex equivalents. I wear one EVERYDAY, all year round. I change them when I remember to.
I used to spend a lot of time in Phoenix, where the temperature can top 110F. The Tech T is PERFECT for the heat - much more comfortable than a cotton T. Get one - then two or three.. you won't go back!
I love t-shirts and I'm wild about this one

These are great looking, form fitting and comfortable whether you're wearing it in a warm or cold environment. I often wear this alone, but occasionally layer another IceBreaker over it. I get a lot of comments about how nice it looks.
Icebreaker merino wool is the best!

I've been transitioning away from Capilene and synthetics the past few years and wore an Icebreaker Tech Zip T 260 wt. (midweight) most of the winter and early spring. I was so impressed with the comfort and durability of the fabric that I just had to try the merino wool Short Sleeve Tech Tee.
I ordered two and lo and behold these are incredible baselayer/active tee shirts. They are incredibly comfortable and the 190 weight has some 'added' process which makes the fabric smooth and comfortable with incredible wicking and NO STINK.
Being that the Tech Tees worked so well, I recently ordered an Icebreaker Hopper Short Sleeve T-shirt and am awaiting its arrival.
Not only do I like high quality merino wool for climbing 14ers, snowshoeing, backcountry hikes and climbs, I also enjoy wearing the fabric around town. I am a total convert to merino wool and especially the wools from Icebreaker!

This lightweight and soft shirt is used nearly year round. Two thumbs up for the soft wool that warms without itching.
best base layer

This is the way to go for a base layer, all year. I thought it would be too hot for summer but not so. Amazing how it really doesn't smell no matter how much you sweat in it. It dries out much more quickly than a cotton tee and is very comfy. Don't throw it in the drier though!
One of the best shirts out there

I'm an avid cyclist and wear this shirt constantly, although unlike some other reviewers I usually wash it after a good sweat, but not because it smells. This shirt is miraculous when it comes to staying fresh and temperature regulation - it stays cool when it's warm and warm when it's cool. It's also much nicer to have against your skin than a synthetic and stylish to boot!
stinkless non-pill T

I picked up one of these Ts when I was in Australia about 3 days before a 3 month cycling trip through AUS and Indonesia. I don't know what made me buy a $90 T-shirt but Im sooooo glad that I did. I just wanted something for the days we were off the bikes. In the end this shirt has taken me up several mountains/volcanoes and it looks nice enough for a casual night on the town. This shirt does not absorb stink (believe me, Ive put it to the test) and there are no pills on it. I've had it for over a year and looks like the day I bought it. Honestly, it is a wonder-shirt. It comes highly recommended and Im 100% satisfied that I bought it. It certainly is 'super-fine'.
Merino Wool- what Zeus would wear?

Ever since I visited New Zealand (well, lived there for a while morelike), I've been a total Merino wool convert, and Icebreaker makes some of the finest merino clothing around. Regulates temperature and moisture superbly, never stinks (NEVER- Sir Peter Blake, the renowned sailor, wore two pairs of Icebreaker underwear for his 180-day sailing trip around the world, and never washed them), and it is amazingly comfortable and itch-free. Any piece you can get is highly recommended- I wore the silkweight T for a weeklong backpacking trip on the AT this summer during a record heat wave (100+ heat index) and it performed incredibly. Pick this up today.
A New Look At Wool

I have Merino wool dress socks which I wear year around, so I was curious about wearing a Merino wool top. I gave it the "Norwegian Bachelor Farmer" test: wore it for 48 hours straight including a 14 mile hike on a wet Saturday followed by mowing the lawn on a sunny Sunday. No odor, no itchiness, and very comfortable. I now own two of the tops, and on cold days I wear them together under a shell. They are great for the wet cold of the Cascades.

I have one of these Icebreaker shirts and I've bought one for each of my brothers. We all agree: these are kickass shirts. After 3 days of intense backpacking in 90-degree heat, I could still wear this performance tee to the bar without making the barmaid turn green. They have a nice slimmish fit - not tight by any means, just a contoured shape. Another bonus: they insulated like no other. I was caught in a cold hailstorm without a rain coat (real smart). I was chilly, but not nearly as cold as I would have been in a synthetic or cotton shirt. HIGHLY recommend any Icebreaker product. This is a good, simple performance tee good for everyday stuff and backpacking.
