Icebug MR4 BUGrip Shoe - Men's

We're still not 100% sure how the Icebug Men's MR4 BUGrip Trail Run Shoe packs so much performance into such a small package. The carbide steel BUGrip studs turn slippery trail runs from hellish to heavenly. When you put weight on the shoe, the studs recede into the sole—the more weight you transfer, the more the studs recede. On slick surfaces they protrude for better bite, and on asphalt and concrete, they sink in. The studs work independently from each other, so they can match even the most varied terrain. Above this futuristic sole, Icebug laid an anti-pronation EVA midsole with a TPU stabilizer to cushion and help correct your stance. The MR4's upper consists of PU coated micro leather with a 10K-rated waterproof BUGdri membrane, so you can slosh through snow, rain, and streams and maintain dry feet. *Not for indoor use.

Bottom Line: Clear as mud? Then run through it while wearing the Icebug MR4 BUGrip Trail Shoe.

Maybe the perfect off-road shoe

I run orienteering courses. That's trails, off trails, hills, creek crossings, boggy areas, the whole messy works. I need a shoe that is comfortable and provides good traction. This shoe does both. I've always had problems with blisters, but not with these shoes; they were comfortable from the day I got them. They work well on all terrains. They are also waterproof, which means if the water isn't too deep, they'll keep your feet dry when crossing streams. My only minor complaint is that these shoes are a little heavy for trail running... but I'm happy to carry a few extra ounces when the shoes work so well for me. For hiking they would be light weight compared to most hiking boots. They are the first Icebugs I've tried, but they won't be the last. I give them five stars.

Get the job done

THese shoes do everything they promise. Provide a solid grip and are waterproof. I recently took them on runs in Steamboat Springs, both around the town in slush and freezings temps and on the groomers. I did not slip one and my feet were warm and dry.
