GSI Outdoor Piranha Foon

The GSI Outdoors Piranha Foon turns two utensils into one to really streamline your backcountry cooking kit. The Piranha Foon (a combination of a spoon and fork) lets you eat your granola or stick your pasta. GSI Outdoors made this spork out of Halulite, which is a super lightweight, super durable hard anodized alloy.

Bottom Line: Pare down your backcountry silverware kit with the GSI Outdoors Piranha Foon.

Sometimes less is more.

While I do love my Snow Peak Titanium Silverware (see review), the Foon is my choice when all I'm doing is eating MREs or dehydrated/bag chow. The clip is great to keep it handy for cooking/eating meals on the go (quite a sight heating a meal on the move). While I'm sure I could find a way to break it, it has held up to some pretty rough "normal" use so far with flying colors. It's insanely light, too.

My only utensil!

Stiff, reliable and easy to clean. Plus, this doesn't scratch my nonstick pans like a titanium spork would. It works better than a fork IMO, and the spoon is large, IE: works well for soups. I've also had mine for 3+ years and it's bomber. Power to the sporks!

This is the best utensil I have ever backpacked with!

This is extremely strong and light, durable and heat resistant. It works for spooning up those big bites of food, and if you need a fork, it handles that job like a champ as well. I have used this for 3 seasons now, and I would use nothing else. And the clip on the handle is great for drying when you are moving camp sites or to clip that to your cook set so you don't loose it. If you are tired of packing in those metal utensils that get too hot and seem to bend every time you wash them, get rid of them and get this one!
