Grivel Air Tech Crampons

Grivel Air Tech Crampons use shortened underfoot points and full-length front points to roll the advantages of 10- and 12-point crampons into one package. When a mountaineering trip takes you across varying terrain, don't be held back by crampons that are too technical or not technical enough. Tool-less length adjustments allow the Air Tech Crampons to be used on several different boots, and fine-tuned heel adjustments (new matic) assure a perfect fit. Grivel also includes Antibott plates to keep snow from balling up under these crampons.

Bottom Line: The Grivel Air Tech Crampons take on any icy or snowy terrain.

I'm mostly a backcountry skier/alpinist. These are great for both long walks on the flat, or climbing a coulior. Very very easy to adjust and use, good strapping. Although these are not supposedly for ski boot type applications, I use them that way as well as on my semi rigid semi-automatic type boots. Couldn't be happier.

A good product

I bought these crampons for my trip toMt. Rainier to do the Kautz glacier route. These crampons walk well, never came loose, and were easy to put on/take off. They also did a good job of sticking into the steep ice of the Kautz ice chutes. No complaints here!

Perfect for what use I have for them

I bought these to scramble around waterfalls,in the ice, I photograph them. These lock on to my Sportiva glacier boots like they were made for each other. I'm 48 and don't heal as fast as I used to, so stability is an issue. So far so good. I anticipate even more good things using this equipment

Great Crampons!

These are my "go to" choice of crampons for all terrain in the winter. Due to the configuration of the points, they are excellent for flat land walking as well as steep mixed climbing. They are well built, tough, and dependable. All the qualities of a really great tool. Plus, they fit my size 45 La Sportiva Makalus like they were made to be. All in all, a really great crampon. I would choose these over the light aluminum version any day. The ounces saved don't make up for the lowered life span and performance on thin ice and mixed ice/rock.
