Great for my down sleeping bag.

By: Mike - Gearhead (46)

I use this to help protect my down sleeping bag from moisture. It allows me to get the back down to a ridiculously small size while still giving protection from rain and water. A great purchase.

Granite Gear Stuff Sac

A solid stuff sac. Used on self support overnighters (WWkayak). Light yet durable and seam taped. There is no roll top closure, but seems to work well if compressed tight. I did use this in conjunction with a Watershed Futa Dry Bag. When keeping gear dry matters most, better double up.

Go with Outdoor Research instead

I have several compression sacks from Outdoor Research (OR) and decided to try the Drylite "rock solid" compression sack. We'll see how it holds up over the years. So far it's "endcap" strap system is confusing and the amount of compression force is not nearly as strong as the OR product. The material used on the Drylite is lighter than the OR product and does not feel nearly "rock solid." You get the feeling that you will rip the material if you pull too hard on the straps. I've gone back to Outdoor Research.

Drylite Rock Solid Compression Sack

I motorcycle camp and although weight is not necessarily a factor, size of items is a factor. This compression sack takes my sleeping bag and compresses it down to at least 1/3 of the size. An added benefit is I throw all my extra clothes in the bag and use it as a pillow in the tent, how cool! The bag is also waterproof, which is a must for me. I am so glad I got the extra-large size, you can always compress it down.

Rock Solid

These compression sacks are good equipment to have, especially when you need to save room in your pack. The only problem I had with ONE of the two that I bought was that it got a tear in it. I used it for 8 days straight, getting it in and out of the pack frequently.

this gear is dude, sweet!

The Drylite Rock Solid Compression Sack offered by Granite Gear is an unbelievable accessory gone necessary! Not only does this compression sack weigh in at an impressively low 5.2 oz. in its class, but its durability and impenetrable Drylite finish can withstand even the harshest weather endured in the Peruvian Andes. The design of the traditional compression sack has been revolutionized through a most simplistic innovation engineered by the individuals responsible for the original Round Rock Solid sack, which eliminates the relentless accumulation of moisture in down sleeping bags or jackets, and any awkward compression problems previously encountered. These compression sacks rank high on the dude sweet scale.

One of the Best

This is my new favorite compression sack. It is a little on the heavy side compared to what I usually use (granite gear, airlight series), but is well worth the weight. They are very durable and almost completely waterproof. I’ve used mine every time out since I got it, including a trip were my newfy jumped into the lake with it in its pack. Contents stayed almost completely dry (I roll the top before I compress it.) I would recommend this product to anyone who needs a tough water resistant stuff sack.

Lightweight, works great...

I purchased the X-large so I could have all my bedding gear in one place. Previous waterproof stuff sack was too small to fit my mummy and sleeping gear. This bag makes it a snap to stuff my mummy and bed clothes. Pull on the four compression straps and you are done. Lightweight, waterproof, I love it. Should have done this years ago.
