Granite Gear The Flyer

The Granite Gear Flyer is a multi-functional campsite diversion. It's a foam disk covered with pack cloth and edged with 500-denier nylon fabric. Use it as a frisbee, and when you're done playing, sit on it—it's a comfy butt pad, too! This disk is also great for your canine companion. It holds up far better than a plastic frisbee and is a lot easier on your dog's teeth. *Assorted colors.

Bottom Line: Toss it, sit on it, chew on it—then give your dog a turn.

Only frisbee that lasts

I've got two 70+ pound labs that LOVE playing with frisbees, and trying their best to play rip them apart. The Granite Gear frisbee is the only one that outlasts their efforts. Its perfect for the lake and flies perfectly too. Highly recommended!

Is this thing sturdy enough to use to dig a snow shelter if needed?

Flag

I wouldn't bet my survival on it, no. Would it work in a pinch? Maybe. But for me, if there's a risk of being trapped in the backcountry and needing to build a shelter, I'd want more than maybe.

The flyer is my dogs favorite toy. He loves being able to pack a frisbee into the backcountry. It's very easy to throw and it gives my dog hours of fun filled frisbee playtime.

this thing lasts and lasts

I bought this for a Frisbee. It's a little heavy for my dog (he's a 50 pounder) but he figures it out. He typically chews the heck out of Frisbees in no time but this one is holding up. I have used it to sit on, etc. but you have to be a dog person who doesn't care about a little dog slime. I'd recommend this for stronger, heavier dogs so they don't hurt their mouths trying to get it in the air. It's a little heavy.

more than a frisbee

Nicknamed the “flying asspad” by a friend, this is more than just a Frisbee. It is a great addition to any trip, as it serves as a plate, pillow, and seat on cold ground or snow. It also floats, and is surprisingly highly resistant to salt water and sun damage.

radar's favorite toy!

By:
October 28, 2004

My dog radar is a frisbee dog, half german shepherd, half australian cattle dog, 2 years old. Malcolm, my other dog is a one-year-old, 100+ lb. Purebred black lab. He destroys anything in his path! It took him and radar almost 2 months to destroy the first one and that was leaving it out in the yard for them all the time to play with while i was at work. The second one I bought is still with us and going strong. I only bring it out when it's time to play. Even being left in the yard it outlasted 99% of their chew toys! It's great for humans too! It flies great, you can fold it or roll it, and if you have a dog like mine who jumps up and tries to catch the frisbee 3 feet away from you when you just threw it as hard as you could it is soft so your little buddy isn't going to be hurt. You can get a frisbee for .99 at petsmart but you can bet you will spend a lot more money keeping your dog in those (chewable) frisbees plus they are painful plastic ones, would you want to catch one in your mouth? Plus they are so light and flexible that they are great healthy entertainment at camp, a picnic or wherever. Dogs bless america! Hook your little buddy up, they bring you so much happiness, don't they deserve a little fun? Hell yeah!
