Odd color, odd feel

When I read that the men's version of this jacket was highly rated in Outside's 2007 gear issue, I checked to see if it came in women's sizes, and it does. Unfortunately, the two colors offered, an icky gray and the one I ordered "lipstick", were not too attractive. I tried the lipstick color but it had a dull finish, an odd feel, and was an unattractive shade of red so I returned it. I went with a comparable model from The North Face (in a blue-gray) and like that much better.
