Giro Encore 2 Helmet
Giro gave the Encore 2 Signature Series Helmet boombproof, durable construction because eating it from 15 feet above the frozen bottom of a half pipe requires some serious head protection. The Encore 2's low-profile, skate style looks good without going overboard with tons of vents or extraneous features. 13 mesh covered vents provide ventilation, without letting snow in when you take a digger.
Bottom Line: Progression takes protection.

This helmet works well for me on most days. Adequate coverage and you don't feel like a mellon head. Good curves, skate styling looks great on the slopes.

How do the earpads connect to the helmet? I have Giro tune ups earpads from my older helmet and wanted to know if they will work for this helmet.

It just slides out from the shell, with a small strap holding it to the main straps. Pull it out and slide it off.

Great Helmet

Comes with several size 'liners' that you can change out to perfect the fit, make sure you use them if you need them, and size your head with your ski/snowboard hat on!
My only (minor) complaint is that the chin strap is hard to adjust on-the-fly and the fuzzy thing that keeps it from rubbing your chin tends to slide badly towards the side w/ the buckle. The goggle clip works great, keeps my eyewear right where I need/want it.
Helmet also has lots of flat space for stickers, but vents very well.

Most cases will require nothing underneath. They make thin balaclavas to go under for extra cold days.

I like this helmet because it is pretty warm without getting really hot. It looks good and feels good on my head. Only complaints is that the ear cover start to hurt my ears after a while on the mountain and that with my goggles on the helmet gets pulled upwards a little so that it sits back on my head. other than that its a good helmet.

After 13 years boarding I finally got myself to buy a helmet. I cant afford to crack my head and never work again.
Helmet is simple and safe and doesn't look like a giant melon on your melon. Worth it to save my head.

This is my first helmet and i really like. When i'm skiing i totally forget i'm wearing a helmet it feels just as comfortable as a beanie. It doen't get to hot and the ear pads keep your ears warm and you can still hear. The chin starp can get irritating but its no big deal. Overall its a great helmet and i reconmend it.

Any goggle gap on this? I've heard on the G10 there are some issues with Anons but Smiths work great. I have Spy Blizzards if that helps.

I actually went ahead and ordered this helmet on Tramdock anyway. Fits great and there's no gap between it and my goggles. Really excited to hit the slopes and test it out.

I got this helmet last year. And I like to do a lot of park and backcountry. But every time I hit my head whether I hit it Soft or Hard I always get a headache.
