Giro Remedy S Comp Helmet

When you take a face plant into the concrete on a failed rail attempt, you'll be glad you have the full-face protection of the Giro Remedy S Helmet. Trusted by riders like J.P. Auclair and Xavier DeleRue, this helmet delivers enhanced coverage to handle the knarliest lines, rails, and jumps. The Remedy S' EPS foam liner takes the impact of brutal hits. The flow through design sucks air in the front of the helmet and lets it out 14 vents for on-the-fly ventilation. A removable visor offers further protection and keeps the sun out of your eyes while being towed into backcountry kickers.

Bottom Line: The Remedy S Helmet provides serious protection for rails, jumps and lines with serious consequences.

HUGE

Bought this for charging bigger lines... and I guess it works for that. Def real comfortable, and gives great protection. The problem is it is absolutely giant. Way too big to ride casuslly, and a pain to carry into the backcountry. Looks more like a moto-cross helmet. This is not what I was hoping for.

I need to buy a full face biking helmet, and after a serious snowboarding accident last season I'm also considering replacing my regular helmet with a full face type. Can you use the same helmet for both? What are the major differences? I would like to avoid buying two nearly identical helmets. Any advice will be appreciated. Thanks,
-Slav

Sizing issue

This helmet rocks! However, the sizing charts are waaay off when you look at the MFR site. If you think you need a large..get a medium...etc. Other than that, it fits awesome.

great helmet if it's what you want

if you're in the market for a full face helmet, this one's pretty darn good - i have dragon mace & oakley wisdom goggles, and both fit the groove / opening well. one thing to note is if you are split btwn this and the carbon fiber model, i have to say the money would probably be worth it (it's a LOT lighter). i've also taken a couple spills, and the helmet's pretty much bomb-proof.

Jumbo sized helmet

I returned the helmet I got in the mail. I was looking for a full face helmet that was similar in size to your normal ski/snowboard helmet. This thing was Huge...the same size as my motocross helmet. Definitely not what I was looking for.

Very comfortable helmet - stylish too

Just spent a couple of days on the slopes in Fernie, BC with this helmet. The way I snowboard, I end up on my head often enough. This helmet did a great job. It is really light on the head and the fit is excellent. Looks pretty mean too. My only issues with the helmet are the following: 1) not all goggles will fit - I bought a new pair of Oakley A-Frames that I cannot use with this helmet 2) Ear vents let alot of cold air in when sitting on the chairlift or in a wicked crosswind 3) When stopped and breathing heavily after a good, steep pitch, your breath deflects off the chin guard and onto the outside of your goggles. This goes away immediately as you start your descent, but it is annoying nonetheless. All in all, a great purchase.

Remedy S Comp Helmet Review

By: FreeRyder (1)

The Giro Remedy S Comp Helmet's fit and finish is superb. It's plush bolsters cushion your head and hold it firmly with no gaps under the helmet (at least on my head). One upcoming problem with SOME Giro helmets is the fit of goggles along the forehead. As Giro is now producing their own goggle lineup, som helmet are engineered to fit only Giro product. This helmet, however, is not in that group. My Smith's and Oakleys both fit very in this helmet. My only complaint is the cheek bolsters (which are removable), are a little snug on my face. But hey, no wind will burn my cheeks this year!

very light and comfortable helmet, fits perfectly with my crowbars. good looks. i have only used this helmet for mountain biking thus far, the ventilation is sufficient at speed in all but the warmest weather so i would assume will be great once winter hits. i bought this helmet as a freeride/big mtn helmet and as an addition to my bad lieutenant, my range of movement is decreased slightly by the chin guard which i think will make switch riding a little trickier though not impossible. that said i definitely would not take this into the park. a steal at this price.
