We say that it is highly water resistant as we do not tape the seams which would make it waterproof. If you are to go out riding and get caught in the rain, you should stay dry as the only point where water may enter the jacket would be at the seams. If you are looking for a waterproof jacket, check out one of the GORE-TEX(r) models.
