They are fine but...

I am looking for socks that wick away moisture. I had serious blister problems during 260+ mile hike last year. I tried this along with Bridgedale lining socks. After 8 hours of walking around town, I noticed some moisture in between the toes. Hence, I decided to get the Bridgedale Light Hiking Socks and SportSlick. Hopefully that will do the trick. I will keep using the midweight socks during winter months in Wisconsin - hence I don't regret buying them.

I forgot how much I loved these socks on my backpacking trip last year, until I pulled them out to train for this year's hike. Soft, comfy, thick but cool. I LOVE them and I'm back to buy more!

Excellent Socks

Most socks go flat during a 10K run. These socks keep their loft and made the run far easier than any sock so far.

Trekkers are swesome

I bought my first pair at Neel's Gap while hiking the AT. These socks were immediately noticeably more comfortable than the Smart Wool hikers I had been wearing. After my trip, I searched for someplace to purchase some more and found this site. They were priced well and shipped quickly. I now use these socks for cold weather running and biking as well as just to throw on with a pair of Crocs to run around town.

The first time I wore these socks it was with a pair of Tevas at the Power to the Peaceful Festival in San Francisco. The last time I wore them was during a desert hike in Arizona. These are far and away the best socks, for any conditions, I've ever worn. I often suffer from "hot foot" in my Merrells, and "toe bunching" in my Tevas, but in these socks I've been nothing but comfortable. just think, all of this time I've thought it was the shoes.

Warmer than I'd expect from midweight

I feel dirty giving anything bridgedale less than a 5, but these socks just don't feel midweight to me. They're sickly comfortable as only bridgedales can be, but are extremely warm and thick. I used them once hiking and they were just too much in the summer. What I have adopted them for though is motorcycling. Their warmth and thickness really keep my feet happy riding over mountain passes on cold mornings.

Trekker Socks

Great for heavy hiking, lots of padding in the toe and ankle areas. Feet seem to glide when walking on the soft wool/synthetic fibres under your feet. I found the light hiker kept my feet drier in warm climates(aust) but for rough terain the extra padding of the trekker was superiour. My feet felt moist but never wet. I don't think it is possible to get a blister wearing these socks.

Bridgedale Trekker socks

5-6 yrs ago bought a pair of GTX Trekker with the MTS construction, presumably a precursor to MMT. They've been up a host of peaks, high country trails, desert canyons and rock scrambles. Still perform exceptionally well. Really reduce blisters, heel stays in place all the time. Fantastic.

Maybe a little warm for the day hikes recently in Zion and North Rim but overall a very good sock.
