Five Ten Anasazi VCS C4 Sole Climbing Shoe - 2006

The Anasazi is Five Ten's top selling high-performance and competition shoe. Designed with competition performance in mind, this shoe is constructed with moisture-wicking lined Cowdura. Cowdura is a strong breathable synthetic suede that doesn't stretch like leather, unlined shoes. Shoes made from Cowdura will adjust to your foot, but will stretch very little. Five Ten's innovative Stealth C4 sole will assure you'll stick to the slickest of rock. VELCRO® brand closures offer easy on/off convenience—great when your feet need to rest frequently between climbs. The Anasazi has a patented side exit heel seam that minimizes the hot spots and blisters typically associated with seam stitching. Down-turned toe design helps position the feet for superior toe power on small ledges. Two pull-on loops allow you to hold the heel cups open and easily pull the shoe on at the same time.

Bottom Line: Spiderman wears these climbing shoes.

love to stick

These are my first pair of Anasazi's. I'm pretty ashamed of myself that I didn't buy them sooner. The are very comfortable..for climbing shoes and they stick to anything.
Anasazi's for life!

Performance fit

By:
May 27, 2005

Don't order a whole size up if you want a performance fit. Either order your street shoe size or a half size smaller. These are great shoes, and the ones I wear for the hard projects.

Anasazi Velcro Climbing Shoes

By:
July 15, 2004

Great! They make me a better climber! And I'll take any advantage I can get. I think I'll buy another pair just in case. Order a full size bigger or you'll be playing the return game, but well worth the trouble.

Ananazi's Rock

By:
February 25, 2005

This is my 3rd pair of Anasazi's and they just seem to get better and better. From hard slab trad routes to technical sport routes, with a large amount of bouldering in between, these shoes cannot be beaten.

best shoes ever!

By:
April 18, 2005

I've climbed on boreal, sportiva, evolv, and I keep coming back to this particular shoe. For edging power, comfort, and fit (my feet are wide) these shoes rock. I’m on my 8th pair, I’ve tried switching for price reasons, but the other shoes don't compare, they inevitably turn into my warmup/gym shoes. Best for sport and bouldering. ie Charleston, Mt. Potasi, red rocks. The only shoe, in my opinion, for your projects.

Great pair of shoes

By:

Wow these are so far my second pair of climbing shoes but so far they are the best. The grip is excellent against real rock and indoor gyms. Definitely worth it.

Never looking back...

By:
July 5, 2005

I've never thought of getting other brands after I've tried my very first Anasazi. After more than 3 years of hard rockin', it still fits me perfectly, just need to stock up on them before it runs out of stock!! You ROCK Anasazi! I've never look back regretting getting you as my investment.

My buddy let me wear his velcros in my first comp at Ohio State. I was standing on holds I wouldn't have even looked at before. You can stick to anything in these bad boys. They aren't cheap but I’d pay twice as much for these things.

My first Anasazi

By:
August 25, 2005

These are my first, but certainly not my last pair of Anasazi's. I bought the same size as my street shoe, and they fit really tightly. I could have gone a half a size up, but there is no need to. They hurt like hell the first few hours of climbing but once you get past that (second time climbing) they rock. It’s really amazing what I can stick to now. I can edge on the texture at the indoor gyms! Once I got used to climbing in these shoes was able to truly trust my feet for the first time. Since I bought these shoes I have successfully completed several problems that I just couldn’t do with my old mad rocks! They are the best shoes for the money!

anasazi 5.10

By:
October 5, 2005

I’ve been climbing with the Anasazi 5.10 for awhile and have been really pleased with their ability both to edge and smear. Never noticed the heel pocket as some complain about. Great shoe for bouldering though if you toe drag you'll wear out the rand quickly. The last pair I bought were a 9.5 and they fit bigger than the 9.5 pair I bought a year and a half ago, which is frustrating. They don't stretch so I had been only downsizing a half size; next time I'll go with a full size.

Anasazi help me keep it tight

By:
May 22, 2006

The Anasazis are my second pair of shoes after my MadRock flashes. The sizing differences between the two shoes leaves little room for accurate comparison, though the lining on the Anasazis is a huge improvement over the Flash. The Anasazis broke in very quickly, though the first five days of climbing hurt. The inside tag bothered my right foot, though toughing it out remedied that.

Make sure to buy them snug because they won't stretch. Also be aware that the newer revision has a different soul, heel, and strap.

It's a ways away, but I know my next shoe is going to be another pair of Anasazis.

5.10 Anasazi VCS climbing shoes rock

By:
May 23, 2006

These shoes are awesome, however, they run a little small. I typically wear a size 13 and I have a pair of Boreal aces that are size 12, so I figured I would get some 12.5's... still too small. I would recommend ordering around your street size unless you are looking for short route and pure performance. However, these babies can stand on anything. I weigh 225lbs, and I trust all my weight on a chip with a 1/6 in. edge!

The benchmark high-performance shoe

By: Backcountry.com Employee
August 4, 2005

The Velcro is hands down the best performing rock shoe on the market today. If you're looking for comfort, this is not the shoe for you. If you're looking for maximum sensitivity and power transfer, you found it. My biggest complaint is these things last about as long as a condom at a safe sex convention...uhh...you get the idea. If Five Ten could make a shoe that performed this well and didn't fall apart after 3 months, there'd be no reason to buy anything else.

Winner hands down.

By: Backcountry.com Employee
June 1, 2004

I have worn lots of climbing shoes throughout the year but I keep coming back to these. Due to the fit of these shoes I wear them about a half size smaller than other climbing shoes and feel more comfortable doing it. (As if it's possible to feel comfortable in a climbing shoe). This is a versatile shoe that allows me to climb at about a grade higher than other shoes I've tried. I'm on my third pair and it won't be my last.
