Foursquare Ruff Down Snowboard Jacket - Men's

When the cold sends everyone else into the lodge, enjoy no lift lines while wearing the Foursquare Men's Ruff Down Jacket. This snowboard jackets down fill provides lava-like warmth in uber cold conditions. Extra puffy goose down keeps you toasty in the most frigid temps, and it breathes so you won't meltdown when the weather lets up. Unzip the pits and arm to arm back vents to blow off some steam after a hard charge down a ridiculously long run. With a 25K waterproof rating and fully-taped seams, this down jacket ensures you stay dry from first fluffy tracks to sloppy sundown snow. While the Ruff parka's membrane is impenetrable to snow, sleet, and rain, its tiny pores let sweat escape while you hike. Cargo pockets, a removable fur trim, and a printed lining keep you looking sharp—just in case you run into some boardalicious ladies.

Bottom Line: Survive arctic conditions in the Foursquare Ruff Down Jacket.

The Jacket I never knew existed

When I went to purchase a new jacket this was the first time I had ever done so online. I had read the reviews for the Ruff Down and decided to give it a shot. I had been prepared for disappointment because it's hard to purchase online, but this jacket has made me a believer. Not only is this the warmest jacket I ever owned; it gives a great range of motion so you never feel like you're wearing a puffy jacket. On top of that, I'm always getting compiments. Enjoy!

Great down jacket

This jacket is perfect for bitter days on the hill or if you want to be warm in the city. I only wear a lightweight baselayer and a T shirt under it. The fit is a little big but I wouldn't say that it is abnormal sizing for snowboard jackets. Tons of pockets and good zippers. The yo-yo pass holder is a good idea but needs to be a little higher up so the pass doesn't hang out of the bottom of the jacket. Overall a great jacket and it looks like it will last a long time.

Great Value

If you're looking for a warm, down parka, this one is an amazing value. First, it's definitely one of my best looking ski jackets, with plenty of "steeze" (as the kids like to say). It's also amazingly warm, keeping me toasty during a particularly cold snap here in Tahoe when me and some buds were stuck on a chair for over 30 minutes due to a wind-hold. Keep in mind that this jacket runs BIG. My chest is around 44", which usually puts me in a L/XL, but the medium jacket was plenty big. For really cold days, I couldn't be happier with this parka.

NOT BAD

The coat is a great tweed material- very styling but it does attract snow, turning the wearer into a white, snow covered snowball during intense snowfall, powder runs, or following crashes. The coat is pretty dang warm, but bear in mind that the construction is not analogous to a typical "puffy." The stuffing is not super thick or poofy, rather, it is contained in panels , giving the jacket a thick, warm feel, without the marshmallow effect- a matter of preference really. I love the pockets as well as the highly effective venting system: large pit zips in combination with a wrist-to-wrist vent spanning the entire back and arms. Detachable hood is great w/ detachable faux fur. Good powder skirt, but unfortunately no nylons on the wrists to keep snow out. The coat is extremely large and bulky- so not great for the backcountry, All around great styling jacket for cold days- also a sweet retractable pass holder!

WOW

I order gear off of this site and others very often, and I have had iffy success. Often sizing is an issue,,, and quality of course.... however, for once I am MORE than pleased... Of course, as usual the order came very quick... The jacket is amazing. Really. Very well made, with details that are not even listed here. The sizing is perfect. I am 6'2 195 lbs and it fits very very well for a non shell jacket. I cant find a single flaw with it. I might even have to convert from North Face to 4 Square... haha I haven't tested its cold weather appeal just yet, but I'm sitting here and i've had it on for 5 min and I'm sweating... Just buy it.

My New Favorite

I just got this coat last week, and promptly took it out for a test drive last weekend. This was my first time with a Foursquare jacket and as far as I'm concerned I'll never go back. It was -15 Celcius and when everyone else was crying about how cold it was, I was actually sweating! Tons of pockets to store everything and the quality of the material is top notch. For the price it's the best bang for your buck, hands down... not to mention that the Eddie Plaidern looks totally sick!

Warm as Toast

I bought this jacket for my husband as he was always cold (we moved from a hot climate to Europe). Now is he so warm he can wear a T-shirt only underneath. It really is an excellent product and since seeing and trying on his, my father and brother have all purchased similar jackets from Backcountry and have been really pleased with the quality, details like pockets etc and warmth they provide. I only wish we had found this jacket sooner.

Best.Down.Ever.

The main issue I have with down jackets is that they're only good in super cold weather. Otherwise I love the way they look and feel. It's like riding inside a nice, comfy, sleeping bag. Mmmm. Well, this one solves the problem of getting too hot by putting a full ARM TO ARM VENT across the back of the jacket! If you're getting a little toasty, unzip that thing and bam! you're back to normal in no time at all. I have the Eddie Plaid, which looks a-maz-ing with some baby blue pants. Flossin'.
