Fi'zi:k Gobi XM MTB Saddle
While we always have trouble pronouncing Fi'zi:k, we never have any problem praising their seats. For a marathon-ready MTB saddle, the Fi'zi:k Gobi XM looks punishingly spare, but its Wing-Flex design feels better after a hundred miles than most racing seats do after ten. Fi'zi:k gave the Gobi a wide profile, rounded tail and extended nose to satisfy every discipline, from elite XC racers to weekend freeriders and all-mountain bombers, all while keeping the whole package under 230 grams.
Bottom Line: The Gobi XM MTB Saddle rides like a dream and weighs about the same.

Is the Gobi seat a good choice for a roadie? The only negative I heard so far is the cordura sides may be too abrasive on lycra road shorts. Any commnts?

I ride with the Gobi on my mountain bike, but I tried it on my road bike and I honestly don't care for it as much. After trying scads (20+) road saddles, I'm personally sold on these two:

I will also strongly discourage you from the fi'zi:k Arione saddle, that thing is a pain!
