Ex Officio ExSential Skirt - Women's
ExOfficio made the Women's ExSential Skirt with a blend of natural and synthetic fibers that creates a soft, stretchy, easy-to-care-for fabric. Organic cotton breathes and soy fibers wick, so you feel cool all summer. Soy is also odor-resistant, a nice trait when you travel in hot, humid countries. Nylon makes this ExOfficio skirt quick-drying and durable, while a ribbed waistband gives you a comfy fit.
Bottom Line: From art museums to dinner, the ExOfficio ExSential Skirt fits in and feels comfy.

thin material - runs big

I was on the hunt for skirts when I ordered this. I love the pic on the truffle color but they only had black in XS. I know that Ex Offcio runs big in general but backcountry had this for a good price so I thought I'd try it.
The xs was a little big - the fit was marginal for me but I thought it would work. However the material is thin and the skirt didn't drape well. It seems to cling to my underwear in an unflattering way. If the material draped a little better I would have considered keeping it but as it was I had also ordered the Carve Designs highpoint skirt and that skirt fit and draped so much better that I kept it and sent the Ex Offico skirt back

Really loved the fabric -- it's very soft -- but the skirt runs big. According to the Ex Officio size charts, the Small should have fit me, but it was *huge*. Big enough that I doubted that an XS would fit me; and I didn't want to spend the $ on return shipping if it didn't. One minor thing: Generally I like it when longer skirts have slits, but on this skirt, the slit is off-center (above the right knee), and that made me wonder if I had the thing on right. (OK, so I'm easily confused....) If you order the skirt, get it at least one size down from what the Ex Officio sizing chart says.
Runs Big but Fantastic Skirt!

Like everyone else says, this skirt does run big. I'm 5'4" and about 140. I have hips and a booty. I generally wear a size 8 or 10, so I ordered a medium in brown. It was WAY too big. It barely sat on my hips and just wanted to fall off!
I sent it back and got a size small in black and I am so glad I did! It is one of the most comfortable pieces of clothing in my wardrobe. I can throw it on with a t-shirt and be comfy all day, or dress it up with a nice blouse and some low heels.
This skirt is worth it, but believe me, you should order a size smaller than the chart indicates.
Everyone is right, too big.

Sorry, had to return this skirt. I'm 5'5", 110# and not a curvy girl. Size 4 was too large (wide in waist, long in length as it hit below my calf). I wish it fit because of the eco fabric. It was soft and comfortable. Oh well.

I sent it back. Not only was it huge but the material is very flimsy. Also the slit on the side is weird.
Strange Waistband

I wanted a light-weight skirt for places where a pair of pants would not be suitable and besides a skirt usually feels more breezy. After really checking out the size charts and being horrified to find such a difference in size from my regular pants and skirts, I asked (Live Chat guys) re the size discrepancies. They couldn't tell me more than follow the charts so I did.
Just 5 days before leaving for Australia, my skirt arrived. I love the colour, truffle brown, and the feel of the fabric as well as the style until I tried it on. What a major disappointment! It practically fell off my hips.
My dear 89 year-old Mom said she'd buy it from me if it fit and it did the same thing to her at the waist. It hasn't any snugness at all in the waist.
So to make a long story short, I wouldn't order this skirt unless you have actually tried it on and know how it fits at the waist.
