Are these shirts and pants better than the less expensive ones that you treat with permethrin yourself?

Not much. Personally, I just get the $25 Columbia buttondown and $30 zip offs and then spend six bucks on some 100% DEET spray. It just seems like $85 for a camping shirt is excessive. But if you'd rather have pretreated clothing, this is what you want to get.
