Ex Officio Amphi Convertible Pant - Men's

Ex Officio's Amphi Convertible Pants convert from pants to shorts in a matter of seconds, 'cause when you're in the backcountry the less gear you carry the better. Thanks to the ankle zips, you don't even have to pull your boots off to remove the legs. The fast-drying Amphi Pants have a built-in brief and belt, making them the ultimate water pants.

Bottom Line: Don't pack pants and shorts. Just pack the Amphi Convertibles.

Amphi convertible

I really like the material these are made of. Nice and lightweight. The one thing I am not too impressed with is they come with a liner inside like a pair of swimming trunks. I think it might be useful for some but I would rather not have it.

Great Product

I have taken the same pair of Amphi Pants on two Philmont 11 day treks in New Mexico's mountains. And I wore them on all the training hikes. Great product. The only pants that we take on the treks. They dry quickly when rained on, and are very comfortable. Will be takin them on this year's trek too. (But I might splurge and buy a new pair!).

Thumbs up for Amphi Convertibles

By: Bob Brannan (5)

The issues for me are utility and weight in backpacking. I have been looking for a lightweight pair of breathable convertibles that will keep the dew off and light rain. These pants work. At 10 oz. they replace my two pairs of nylon shorts (8 oz.) and windpants (9 oz.). The Amphi pants are reasonably wind resistant but breathe well enough that I can put them on in 70-80 degree temperatures to keep mosquitoes away. I have grown tired of slapping on repellent. Two concerns: 1. the leg zippers seem somewhat delicate, but only time will tell how well they will last. 2. Sizes are either 28-30 or 32-34. There is no 30-32. I have the 32-34, which are a bit loose on my 31-inch waist but not a real problem.

Amphi Convertible Pants are great

The Amphi Convertible Pants are as well made as the shorts. I've had a pair of the shorts for 5+ years and live in them during the summer. The pants just make packing for a camping trip that much easier. Excellent product and comfortable as can be.

These Amphi pants are great, this is my third pair and if you don't burn a hole in them they last years, so be careful if you smoke.

Everything I expected..

Yes, these were everything I expected. Good quality for a very reasonable price. If I were to niggle about anything, the pants are sized just a tiny bit too small, but then I need to drop just a little around the waste. But now that I have the convertibles, I'll be hiking more so everything will work itself out. Again, great convertible pants, no chafing from zippers on thighs so I couldn't ask for more.

Men's Convertibles

My husband approves of these hiking pants. I've heard no complaints, so I guess they're good. I will say, they do not come out of the washer/dryer looking great--but I would still purchase another pair for him.

good pants/shorts

I just wore these pants/shorts in the Seven Devils for five days straight. In the morning I would take off the leg attachments, and at night I would put them back on. I cleaned the shorts just about everyday, but I probably didn't need to. They are very nice.

This purchase was to add more pairs of the a convertible pant I already owned. The price was one of the lowest I found and the delivery was responsive and quick keeping me appraised of the status from distributor to my door. Thank you.

convertible pants

I love the material in these pants. It is lightweight and dries quickly. The only thing wrong with them is that the leg lengths in these pants are too long. I have never been able to find any that were short enough. I had to get them hemmed.
