Eureka Blue Mesa 1610 Tent 9-Person 3-Season

If you can't fit the whole family in the Eureka Blue Mesa 1610 9-Person Tent, then you need to get a motor home (or another tent). With an amazing 10 x 16ft floor space and a center height that lets a 6ft 2in person stand up straight, this Eureka tent lets everyone sprawl. Sure, the 151sq foot space may be smaller than your apartment (or maybe not), but your apartment doesn't have three doors like the Blue Mesa 1610 Tent. Eureka made this family camping tent with a four-pole freestanding design for easy setup.

Bottom Line: Big for a tent, small for an apartment.

poor stitching

By:

The stitching in our tent is poorly done. We received the tent today, put it up easily but one of the seams is sewn down into the screen and the zipper, so that the zipper cannot function. There are other areas of stitching that were sewn incorrectly leaving about 30 long loops of loose thread hanging from the seam. We are returning to backcountry before using because of these defects.

easy to assemble

By:

Went up easy and was plenty big enough for our family of 4. The zipper does get caught on the door fabric. When we took it down one of the bungi cords broke inside a pole that holds the rain cover making it unusable. We called the company and they are sending out a new one.

Better than Expected

Long sleek design. Very easy to put up, but the poles are very long when assembled. I can see how one could get broken in the set up or break down process before being put into the sleeves. Once up, the head room is great in the middle of the tent but the ends slant down, but not severly. The side rooms are not very big, enough to put one person with gear or two small kids. In the center section we set up two cots side-by-side and one folding chair. Plenty of room. The door fabric will catch in the zipper if closed too quickly. We put on the rain cover in the dark with no instructions. Too easy! We ended up staking it 5 places. Without them, it lifed up on the sides and at the door. Bottom line, very easy to use, good design, light weight, well made for fair weather campers, space is good for a family of 4, and it looks good too.

Like our apartment(manhattan)

Easy to put up, given its size, stayed dry but my wife froze, my fault of course,(Portland in April) so any rational analysis was tossed out one of the many windows. I love the multiple doors though and look forward to camping this summer Great for car camping, just have a big duffle bag to throw it all in and you are set. Oh yea my rain fly pole broke(the bungee cord) so I just gaffer taped the pieces together. How do i fix that?
