Eagle Creek Tarmac 28 Travel Pack - 5625 cu in
When you're traveling the skies for a weekend trip, pack and move easily with the Eagle Creek Tarmac ES 28 Travel Pack. The Tarmac ES 28 is the dump truck of its family—ready and willing to swallow all your junk. Designed to be easy on you when you're environment isn't, the Tarmac ES features an extendable handle that's extremely comfortable in left or right hand. A heavy-duty kick plate and wheel housing is proof against stairs, curbs and taxicab trunk edges. Soul Patches reinforce the ES's corners with Thermo Plastic Rubber, and the Auto Cinch system compresses your load without straps hanging off. If compression is the opposite of what you need, the main compartment can expand an extra 2.5" to accommodate all your stuff.
Bottom Line: You're weekend of traveling will breeze by like clouds outside the airplane window thanks to the Eagle Creek Tarmac ES 28 Travel Pack.

Holds more than you need

One of the lightest on the market, well designed interior system, handle, wheels, straps... can't be beat. I thought I did my homework well and ordered the 28" but found with the EC cubes this size holds way more than I need, even for extended winter-weather travel -- so well designed it packs more than my old duffle bag sized at 1000 cu in. larger! Exchanging it for the 25" in the same lovely, subtle Palm color -- easy to spot without being garish. Backcountry customer service the best, as always -- made the exchange efficient and hassle-free.

I'll be traveling for a little over a month, I was just wondering if this bag would have enough room?

I am a flight attendant for a major airline and commute to Cincinnati to fly Internationally to London three times a month. The bag is light enough to go up and down stairs, and is checked to and from London and is strong enough to be abused by the airlines. I love it and changed from a Tumi (much heavier to lift), which was my favorite until I tried the Eagle Creek bag.
Is the sienna colored one the same model as the other colors?
Is the sienna colored one the same model as the other colors? The pictures look different. I think the new models don't have that cinch strap anymore. Thanks.

Just took this bag on a weeklong trip to MX. It held my clothes as well as enough snack food for the week and I still had extra room. Eagle Creek is a great company and this bag exceeded my expectations. It is very well built, and the lifetime warranty is a testiment to their quality.
Please let me know what the layout of the inside of the bag is
Please let me know what the layout of the inside of the bag is like and what the strap is on the outside and why it is only showing on the black bag. Also, how is this different from the tarmac 28 rolling upright. Thanks - Phyllis

This is a split frae design- One side has compression wings to secure items inside, and the other side has two mesh pockets- one sized for a large cube and the other one with a waterresistant fabric for toiletries.

Bought this recently and used it for the first time travelling back from holidays in the States to Ireland. Does exactly what it says on the tin, seemed to be well able to deal with the abuse it got from baggage handling. Its very light too which helps a lot when you have to deal with the weight allowances now in place by the airlines

I needed a lightweight bag and none is lighter, but I wasn't prepared for how much I could pack in it. Make sure you get the packing cube accessories also from Eagle Creek. You won't be disappointed.
Best Bag Ever!

Love this bag! It took me on a very strenuous trip of 5 weeks in Scandinavia. The all-terrain wheels were a great help, and the bag still looks great even after all the different airlines, trains, and ferry rides. It is probably the largest bag allowed by the airlines now-a-days, and I can't say enough good things about it. I got it in the Palm color, looks great, and it is a very easy find on the luggage carousels. Another great feature. Highly Recommend!!!
