Darn Tough Merino Wool Mesh 1/4 Sock

The Darn Tough Merino Wool 1/4 Mesh Sock is an ankle-high sock with open-mesh knitting on top that enables your hardworking hooves to breathe. As you trail run or mountain bike, these merino wool socks pull perspiration away from your feet to keep them dry, even on hot days. Darn Tough added nylon to these lightweight socks and reinforced the heel and toe to make them tough. Elastic around the arch gives you a snug fit, so your sock won't bunch or wrinkle and give you blisters.

Bottom Line: The Darn Tough Merino Wool 1/4 Mesh Socks give your feet blister-free bliss on your summer bike trip or trail run.

Merino vs Coolmax

By: myoldog(4)

These are the best darn socks in the world, no kidding. This particular light weight summer sock is fantastic for light hiking and especially bicycling. Darn Tough makes their socks with either CoolMax or Merino wool. It's your choice, but I find wool to be better than CoolMax, because it wicks moisture better and keeps my footsies nice and dry (unless I decide to swim in my socks)! I think CoolMax tends to keep the moisture closer to my skin, but maybe I simply sweat too much. Try both CoolMax and Merino wool versions, then decide for yourself. I made my decision 5 years ago and have never recanted. I love these so much that I sleep in them. Well, maybe that's just a bit of an exaggeration on my part. But just try 'em. Your feet will love you for it.

best thin sock

Darn Tough makes some of the nicest socks. This is a super thin sock. Hate socks but need them in bike shoes and running shoes and these are the most comfortable and seem to wear great. Very happy with these, buy some and see for yourself.

Great lightweight socks

Hard to really elaborate on socks, but I wear these all the time, and they hold up well, and keep my feet dry and comfortable. A little too light for long treks, but i suppose that's what all these "hiking" socks are for anyway. All in all, I'd buy them again!

not that comfortable

These socks have a rough interior seam directly above the toes. I don't think that is acceptable for socks at this price. Otherwise, they do seem to be well made.

Darn Tough doesn't disapoint.

Bought their Ski and other padded shorties and have been so psyched. This company makes the very best socks. These mesh 1/4 socks are just the thing in my cycling shoes and will be great when its hot. The colors are great and the fit is the best.
