DAKINE Sequence Backpack w/ Camera Block - 2000cu in

This is the only reasonably-sized hike-worthy camera backpack that will carry your camera and large telephoto lens without disassembly. Holds 70-200mm Nikon f/2.8 and 1.7X Nikon Teleconverter all connected with room to spare for an even bigger telephoto, and also has space for at least 3 other lenses (non-telephoto), or another big prime telephoto lens up to 300mm f/2.8.

This pack is durable, very well made for the price, has plenty of compartments in intuitive places, and is very comfortable on your back even with 15 pounds or more of camera gear on your back.

The laptop pocket? if that's what the pack is meant to hold (the large front pocket) is very shallow and can barely fit my macbook 13" notebook. This could be the only downside to this pack, although it does hold my macbook so I'm stoked.

If you have a 15" laptop and like to carry it with your camera gear, you might be able to place it above the camera gear on the other side of the pack, but it will require some adjustment and hassle becasue you'll have to place it aside every time you pull out your camera.

I ordered this pack (the newer sequence '08) for everyday use. This is a great pack, but remember, it's truely a camera pack. There's not much room for other items. I can fit the camera block, my macbook, and a bunch of small items (school supplies, phone, wallet), and that's about it. That said, the camera block is HUGE.

If you are shooting with a smaller dslr, you can cram your camera block with all sorts of stuff. The compartments are all adjustable via velcro.

My only complaint, is it's kind of bulky (compared to my heli pro II). This is largely due to the camera block (which is removeable). It feels great on my back, just looks big... The camera access is great though, and it'll fit all your camera needs!

I think dakine got rid of the ski loops on this pack. You COULD somehow get your skis on this pack, but not with the interface on MOST of their other packs. That said, there's tripod loops now which is great.

At first i was a little sketch on its size but after using it for a few weeks now i have to say i am pretty pleased. It is plenty big to hold the goods (for me thats a D90 or D300). I can fit about 3 lens in this, and the camera block's compartments are adjustable, so when you are constantly putting different lens in like me ( sometimes its a 50mm sometimes a 70-200 F2.8!) they fit well. I took a helluva tumble with this and about 4000 dollars worth of gear in this bag, and it was a baaaaad tumble, about 120 yds at least head over heals. but, guess what, everything was stillin 100% condition afterwards and shooting my buddies huck the same cliff with good gear intact, made my day!

This pack can fit a lot of camera gear, as well as some other accessories for your camera and/or snowboarding trip. The material is very durable and the straps were very comfortable.

There is not dedicated laptop pocket, but I was able to fit my Macbook with a neoprene cover in the front pocket.

Best thing about the pack is that it does not scream camera pack. So it is always a little more comforting walking around town. Keep in mind, this is a big backpack at 33L. I also picked up a Dakine Mission Photo Pack. It's smaller overall and therefore a little lighter on the back. Definitely check that one out if you can before to decide which is better for your needs.

great pak...plenty of space for lenses, cameras, and gear. very durable.. i had to climb belly up down a very rocky mountain with it and the rocks did not even scratch the bag. not a lot of room for extra non photo gear unless you store it with the camera........very water resistant and almost waterproof with the rain cover that is built in...it is a bigger pak....it is not really good to wear for city shoots or any where you don't want a bulkier pak getting in the way or standing out.....great for wilderness..skiing...biking....whatever......my back doesn't get too sweaty either like my old pak........if you are an adventurous shutterbug..you will defn. find a use for this bag.......

I use this backpack as my adventure bag for riding motorcycles. It is perfect. It keeps my camera dry and safe, and the bag is not intrusive while riding on the highway or down dirt trails. ITs got all the room i need for all my camera accessories and even a laptop (a thin one). Not much room for anything else, but that's not what i got it for. The waist strap is very light and doesn't bother me as much as a backpacking bag while i ride. Once you are at your location it is easy to break out the camera block and get ready.

If you have ever had a Dakine bag, then you know what i'm talking about. this is my third dakine backpack that I have purchased and I love them all. My oldest one is 6 years old and still working great. This bag offers all the protection that I need for my camera gear and give me an easy comfortable way to hike it wherever I want or need to take it. The design is amazing, the inner case comes right our of the bag so I can take that if I just need a smaller protective case and then I have a great backpack.

Perfect for airplanes. Unlike most backpacks, it isn't too deep and oddly shaped to fit in the overhead bin or under your seat. It fits my 40D and several lenses with room to spare. I can also fit my laptop in a sleeve in the front pocket. Extra straps store away nicely too!

Used this on a trip and did tons of walking with it on and it did not hurt my back. Plenty of room and cushioning for several lenses. I like that it opens under the back straps for extra security.

It's fits my Panasonic DVX camera perfectly, as well as several tapes and any other little things I may need. Great in the backcountry, comfortable, and overall a solid pack if you need to carry a camera.

I bought this pack to use at at Mt. Hood for the summer. It's a great pack and super durable. I appreciated all the little outer pockets for random accessories. It cinches down super nice while riding too, which is great if you want to have a good time riding down instead of being afraid you camera parts are going to be bouncing all over the place. I did have a problem with the water bottle holder though. The elastic came undone and I ended up having to tie it to the bag.

I have the older model (bought it summer or 2007). Took this boarding and skiing at Breck and absolutely loved it. Very secure & comfortable to wear with easy adjustments. camera access was great and the padding was excellent for those less then graceful moments. At first I held back on the equipment opting for my older DSLR but after a short time had both my bodies and several lenses including my fast 200mm(big) for those amazing frozen big air shots. Not much in the way of personal storage besides Googles, water bottle & jerky and a radio. The straps came in handy off the trail for some virgin powder shots not to mention to carry my 2 year old's skis when he fell asleep at the peak cafe.

I'm using this pack for almost a year already! It suits my camera greatly, as well as laptop, chargers, etc. It handles also my snowboard greatly...real tidely and safe.
