CW-X Stabilyx Tight - Men's

Slogging away for that spring marathon on a treadmill? Pull on the CW-X Men's Stabilyx Tights and get some fresh air. The Stabilyx Tights offer targeted support to protect your lower back and core area so you can run strong with less fatigue. These running tights also integrate CW-X's Conditioning Web, which helps muscles and ligaments band together to stabilize your knee joints. With Coolmax fabric, moisture stays away from your skin and heads to the outside of the tight. Flat seam construction keeps you chafe-free so you can get your training runs done in comfort.

Bottom Line: Run long and strong in the CW-X Stabilyx Tights.

Best. thing. ever.

The tights are great. The material and cut is top notch and super comfortable. They are breathable and relatively cool to wear. I've worn them in the winter (under my snowpant) and the summer (with a pair of shorts). As they are more of a compression short/wicking base layer aren't super warm in the winter. I got a pair of the Insulator versions which I'll try out this winter. The conditional web support your IT band along you outer thigh and then wrap around your knee to help keep it aligned during exercise. It's not going to be better than say a DonJoy hinged brace... but it's far better than those neoprene knee sleeves that you pull on. They also work well as compression shorts, massaging your muscles as you move and help keep them from getting fatigued. These two effects are subtle... but definitely noticeable to me. I've had a variety of long underwear (Patagonia, Burton, UnderArmour, etc) that I've bought a high discounts... while I bought my first two pair of CW-X for like 70% off... I liked them so much I got another pair for full price. That's how much I like them. I wear them for ice hockey, snowboarding, running, cycling and hiking.

Sweet tights

These puppies provide some great support without rubbin me the wrong way. I have bad knees and on long bike ride they tend to give a bit. While wearing these tights I've seen some improvement, more stability, and comfort. They wick like no other, very breathable. I highly suggest these bad boys.

Help for an Old skier

By:
July 31, 2008

After hearing how great these tights are for runners, I decided to try them for skiing. I've been skiing for over 40 years and I hurt after a good day. I got these near the end of the season, so I did not test them Backcountry skiing. But I did get in some Resort skiing. Alpine skiing usually causes me pain in the back and knees, frequently hurting just after a couple of hours into the day. The Stabilyx definitely helped hold off the pain while skiing, which makes me feel a bit stronger and more aggressive. Of course I still hurt later at night like usual, but I did not expect them to reverse time. I can't wait till next winter to see if they really work on the IT band when climbing 3 to 6000 vert a day.

I am a 54 year old who has been running for 15 years. Wore these tights for a 1/2 marathon and felt they helped but don't expect miracles. In order to get them to fit I had to order a Large and feel a medium / tall would have fit better and offered more support. I am 5'11'' (33 inch inseam) and 180 lbs and ordered the large for my height.

Expensive, but excellent support

I bought these tights to train for and hike the Continental Divide Trail. My knees have taken a beating over the years so after the first month of training for the CDT, I couldn't run. My knees hurt too much. After using the CW-X tights, I can run, hike, and cross train. I plan to wear them on the trail--I'll treat them with permethrin to prevent any tick-related illnesses. The Cool-Max fabric wicks moisture away from my skin while the integrated lower-body support really works. I would suggest selecting a larger size than normal; I am 5'8" and 165lbs (31 waist, 30 inseam), originally purchased a small, but the inseam from hips to knee was an inch short. I tried a medium, and they fit perfectly. I haven't found a comparible product anywhere. I'm glad I have them and strongly recommend them to others. I give the tights a 4 (not a 5) because they are a bit expensive.

Tight tights

I finally splurged and bought a pair of CW-X tights, and I can not believe what a difference they've made for skiing. Typically after a long day I'm sore in my lower back, but the phenomenal support given by the tights made a hard day at Alta seem like a breeze. The support given to the knees improves flex and stance as well. I highly recommend these for every skier. If you're wanting to save layers, get the insulated version of the tights.

These tights are great for running and biking. They are breathable enough for a hot day but keep you just warm enough for a chilly morning. Though expensive, they are a worthy investment!

these tights are great for running, even in the winter. I have also used them for support for fly fishing wading. Support is superb. Lower back support is unbelievable. I definitely recommend them.

Tried and true

I did not believe that a pair of tights could make such a difference. But they really do. I trained all winter for a ultra marathon and these kept me warm without getting all sweaty. Supported my muscles and greatly reduced my fatigue. I could go for a bit less flashy looking design though.
