CW-X Pro Tight - Women's
Enhance your workout with the CW-X Pro Tight Bottoms. The ultimate in technical training wear, the Pro Tight supports key muscle groups to dampen vibration, increase blood flow and decrease fatigue so you can go longer and train better. CW-X's parent company manufactures (ahem) Intimate Apparel, so they know how to dial in a killer women's fit. Support for the lower back, knee and hip joints helps to bring them into proper alignment to cut down on the risk of injury. The really amazing thing about the pro tights though is how comfy they are, thanks to CoolMax fabric. You'll love the incredibly moisture management and temperature control they give you, so you can keep going even if the weather changes on you.
Bottom Line: Sleek and comfy with technology that'll blow your mind.

Bit to much support

Purchased tights for trail running, I have knee problems and wanted extra support for them. These tights definitely provided that, but at a cost, I felt restricted in my ability to bend my knees for the steppy ups of rocky trails. The tights also bunched up around the knee area. I am 5'4" and 135lbs. The chart recommended a small but having larger than normal legs, I got a Medium. They seemed to fit fairly well but very tight around the calves and butt areas. I thought that this was okay because they were support tights but it really was a problem for me, even during road runs. I think that these tights would be great for a more normal shaped runner, doing road runs, but not for me and my steppy trail scrambles.
First pair of tights, but I picked a winner.

I'm fat, old, and out of shape. I bought these because I needed something to run outside in the cold, and all support is appreciated.
I read all the reviews here, and after I decided to buy them, I realized that I am fatter than the largest size - not by much, but I'm 5'10 and 195. I carry most of my weight in my butt and upper thighs, so it knew it would be a stretch (hahaha). I asked customer service about returns before I purchased the item. With their reassurance about the return policy, I bought them.
When I opened the package, I thought, NO WAY. They looked like pants for life-size Barbie. I wore them outside on a 35F day and was really pleased. I wore them to my first 5k race on a 35F Thanksgiving morning, and I felt great.
The support made me feel like a was a real runner. (hahaha) I didn't jiggle, and my knees stayed where they were supposed to. I was warm enough, and I plan on running a new years eve 5k in my snazzy new tights.
I would recommend height over tight for these. If they weren't long enough for the supports to land in the right place, they probably wouldn't feel as good when wearing them.

Split down the middle. Anything from the mid 20's and up should be fine with these tights. Anything below and I'd shoot for the insulators.

After 3 knee surgeries and problems with IT bands and shin pain I really didn't expect to ever be able to run pain free again. These tights go a long way to helping me feel better during and after my run.

Do they have these for men too? Are they legal apparel to compete in according to high school regulations for track and field? Most of comments are from distance runners, but are they good for sprint training too?

Sizing
By: num
April 1, 2008
I can tell these are awesome tights, but the size I ordered is too large to get compression and taping benefits from. I ordered the large based on my weight and the size chart, but upon their arrival I tried them on and they were too big. I came to exchange them and saw that the mediums had sold out already :( Oh well.
If you're very muscular, you may want to size down.
Skepticism=Gone.

Gotta be honest--I had read a lot of great things about the CR-X, but I was way skeptical. But the sale price was only a bit more than what a pair of Under Armour winter tights might cost, so I thought, what the heck. I ran in them once, and all my skepticism vanished after the first mile. This is a really impressive piece of technical running equipment. I do a lot of hill running, and I could feel the difference the added support in the calves made uphill and in the quads downhill. Even on a flat road, my legs felt light, lean, and well-supported. After one run, they were my favorite tights. One small caveat: the crotch is a tiny bit long, and I usually have to stop every 5 miles or so to readjust and make sure everything is in the right place. But overall, this is a really exceptional piece of running gear and I would highly recommend it, especially for long-distance runners.
I'm running a half marathon in Denver in late October...Temps
I'm running a half marathon in Denver in late October...Temps could be anywhere from 36 degrees to 60. (Last year it was snowing) Anyone have experience with these and the CW-X insulator tights? Which would be best for these temps? A lot of the insulator tights reviews were for skiing, I'm wondering if I'll be too warm if the temps are on the high side this year? Will I be too cold if I go with these?

I ran 17 miles in the CW-X Insulator Stabilyx (not Pro) tights last Saturday and it was 38-45 degrees with 20+ mph wind and my legs were never cold at all. Usually I freeze in the cold. Not sure how they work in warm weather though. Good Luck!

I ran once in my fancy new tights and can say that I was underwhelmed. While the waist cut off my circulation, the crotch kept sliding down. I finally rolled the waist and it did better but I still pulled them up a lot. Given the price, I'm not sold yet. I'll see how they do when the temps drop a bit. I think the support will be great if you can get past the other things. (FYI: I'm 5'3, 120, rectangular figure and bought a Medium; Small would be WAY too tight in the waist but Medium may be too loose in other places).

I'm 49 and training for my for my first marathon - increasing my long runs I noticed some knee pain and was looking for running tights that would offer some support - I bought both the pro and stabilyx tights - both work wonderfully - I no longer get knee pain when I put in the long runs and my legs definitely have less fatigue. Be sure to buy the proper size to take full advantage of their support.

Use the sizing chart on the CW-X website. They go by height and weight. There is quite a bit of crossover, but you know where you carry your weight. I am in between a small and a medium, but I have heavy hips and thighs, so I went with the medium. If you are leaner in the legs, then size down.

I purchased these using the size chart. I understand they are supposed to be snug. I felt like I am putting on panty hose each time I use them. Once I get them on I love them. They do seem be just a little short in the length.
excellent support and compression

Friends told me to try the cw-x shorts and tights after having lots of hamstring problems. I get hot very easily, but had no problems in these or the shorts. The difference between these and the experts is an extra panel of the heavy material around the upper back of the tights and more along the top ACL. The tights worked very well for me; I used them on the JFK 50 mile race last weekend as my second real run in them. I had no chafing and they provided great support. I only wish they had a few more sizes.. I am in that little area between a small and a medium that their chart doesn't cover. The tights still work well, but the waist is a bit loose and does slide down over time on the trail. I have to pull up the tights occasionally -- I'm not sure everyone would, it's not like they'd dropped like pantyhose, but enough for me to notice. I do not have this problem with the shorts. They are really excellent.
Awesome, but not for tall people
By: Amanda W.
November 28, 2008
I really liked these, except for a major problem. I'm 5'9", about 140 and I bought a small. They fit really well, except that they're too short. With the webbing, you can't just hike them up more, either, because then the really nifty knee supports are more like lower thigh supports. They even looked super cool, but they just didn't work. So I spent most of the few runs I did in them trying to keep them from falling down. If I weren't tall, they'd probably be perfect. But I am, I guess, so back they went.
Great support.

I have lost 125 lbs over the last 14 months & needed good support for my legs since I also took up running this year. I thought it was alot of money for tights, but they are worth every penny I spent. My legs feel great during & after a race. After my last 5K in 32F with wind, my legs stayed warm & recovery was so fast. I'm training for 1/2 marathon next & I know I will be wearing my Pro tights. I've bought 2 more pair for Xmas presents for my daughter & her husband. They are adventure racers & I know they will love them. They are worth every penny. JC

Ok to put it simply I love these tights. This is my second pair. I wore out my first. My age is fifty...something....I play tennis hard. These tights give my knees the support they need to move quickly in all directions. This new pair has added support across my lower back that feels great. I have passed this information on to many of my friends. All have been grateful that I let them in on my great find. I thank all the people who worked on making them. It is obvious that a lot of energy went into making such a beautifully designed product.
Nice!

I ordered following the CW-X sizing chart. I fall between sizes, so went with the larger one since my weight is all below the waist. When I first opened the package, I was skeptical. They looked so tiny. But I pulled them on and up, bit by bit, and amazingly, they fit! They are supportive all over. If you have any jiggly spots, you won't know it in these. And that's not just a cosmetic bonus, it helps keep muscles from fatiguing. They are so stretchy that they don't bind or pinch, despite their skintight fit. I don't part with my money easily, but these were worth every penny for the comfort they provide. I wish they were a little cooler on the skin, but I will wear these out and get another pair.

Great running tights -- they keep my legs warm, wick moisture, and provide just the right amount of support in key places. My legs don't seem as fatigued after hard hill workouts. Highly recommended.

I have been using CW-X tights since last year when I bought the original ones that support your knees and calves.
These new Pro tights are even better! They still support my knees, but I get a lot of support in the lower back, hamstring, and hip area as well. I use these tights in the gym and when I jog. They are a little expensive, but are well worth the money when you try them. I get a lot of people checking them out at the gym, they look cool on and they fit wonderfully. I highly recommend them.

I was initially attracted to these tights because of their strange "anatomic" appearance. I did not believe that they could actually reduce fatigue and enhance my performance. I was so wrong. These tights live up to their claims.

My husband bought the CWX Pro-tights for me for Christmas (he gave them to me a little early) and I have to say they are phenomenal. I find the most effective areas are the back and the knee supports. I find that my running posture is much better when I wear these and I also find that my legs are forced to stay straight--I am a shuffler when I run but when I am wearing these tights, I actually pick my legs up. I love them!

I love these tights! They are super comfortable and really support my leg muscles. They also stabilize my bad left knee and wick moisture away quickly. I would recommend these for anyone who runs, bikes, skis or works out. They reduce muscle fatigue and look great!

I bought these because of all the positive feedback I had heard prior to buying them. They live up to all the praise! The support in the knees/quads/lower back is incredible! I am near the 'end' of a knee injury that is healing, and this has given me the extra support I need! Highly recommended!

Wore them to work under sport pants the morning after my last marathon and stayed in them all day long. I am a teacher, so I am on my feet all day. They were fabulous! Recovery time was much shorter than last time (and that's not because I am getting younger! haha) I can't say enough good things about them. MG

These tights are pricey but worth every penny. I ran an ultra-marathon wearing these tights last week and compression in all the right places (knees, calves, ankles and lower back) kept me feeling great. In addition, temperature control seemed just right, so I never got too hot even in the low 50's. My only regret is that I fell during a particularly rocky portion of the race, and I ripped a hole in the knee (also gashed my knee). The tights provided good protection from the fall and the results could have been worse; I just wish I hadn't damaged these great tights.

I'm 5'1" with a bit wider waist, but the XS still fits me great! I've ran in them for several 16+ mile runs and they feel super. Nice and tight through the legs and good support for the lower back. I haven't ever had knee problems so I can't testify to the effectiveness of that feature, but the way they wrap the extra support around your legs in that area feels good. My only problem, and it's likely because of my anatomy, is that they will gather behind my knees (but ALL my tights do this, I just feel it more since these are really fitted) and I will need to either pull 'em up or down. I'm glad I found them of sale and bought two!

I think these would be great if they were a little more tight- I got the S (I used the CX-W website to better determine my size), however i was on the cusp of XS and S and wish I would have gotten the XS. Otherwise, they are a fabulous item and are a must have for anyone active in colder weather!

Love these tights! I wore them for the Disney Half-marathon. It was 36F at the start of the race. I ran a PB. I had pulled a hamstring a year ago, running without support. After wearing these, my hamstring was fine and my knees felt great. Even though they are expensive, they are well worth it!
