Great support and all round use

I use these tights for running and hiking and occasionally for biking - they provide excellent support for injury prone knees and quads, especially when exercising in the cold. When they come out of the box you think "no way will these fit" - I'm 5 ft 10 inches tall and have quads built from years of mountain biking and road riding in the New Zealand foothills and these tights still fit me neatly. More reflective tape and ankle zips would be the only small but insignificant improvements.

I bought these both for support and for warmth in the Canadian Rockies. At 30 below F, they kept me warm and snuggie. While they can't take the place of my knee braces (skiing is the only time I need them), I liked the fact that they are designed to help. And they look really cool, too.

I weigh 157 pounds and have a 34 inch inseam. I want to use these for warmth and support for downhill skiing. What size should I buy and are they the right tight for skiing?

Expert Tights do the job

I felt a difference the day I put a pair on. The Expert Tights provide support especially at the knees/hips.The fit is snug so your muscles feel secure/braced/supported.
I must say tho, that at 5ft 6 and 112 lbs, the women's size SMALL is just right. If I were 5+pounds heavier I would tend to go for a larger size..these tights are snug but look fab :)

I'm going to be training for a marathon in weather from -20c to 0c, would these tights be warm enough for that?

I'd look into the "Insulator" version of this same tight. It's here: http://www.backcountry.com/store/CWX0014/CW-X-Insulator-Expe

Very Nice Tights

I am very excited about these tights. At first I thought they were a little expensive but once I had the chance to put them on and go on my daily hike, I realized that there really is a huge benefit to having the support in the legs and knees. My legs felt great after the hike and now I use the tights for all my exercise activities including yoga and aerobics. Since I can use them for all my activities all year long, they are definitely worth the price. I am very happy with these CW-X tights.
Could not make a better choice?

Just to let you know thaT I order expert tight-women's size small because small for men were too large.
I hope that your designer will produce that kind of size As for the confort in expert tight it is wonderful, and I had all the proofs be but with a contour pouch for men, We are not always the same size and for me small for men is really too large.cause I had a car acident and I had to wear some elastic bandage around my right knee and tigh , since I bought those tights, it's calming down the pain and be able to walk a longer distance without taking less drugs for pain.
And also it was prescribe by doctors and the ways that those gears are design it is consider as medical devices.
Hope you will get more colors In the future.
For those who had doubt concerning those tights, please buy a pair and try it and what is wonderful
Would these be warm enough for running in 30-ish degree weather?
Would these be warm enough for running in 30-ish degree weather? Do they resist wind at all, or are they intended solely as an underlayer?

I wouldn't opt for these tights to keep you super warm. If you like the look and muscle support of the CW-X, opt for the CW-X Insulator Stabilyx Tight instead. Another option is the Sugoi MidZero Tight. For super cold days (colder than 30* F) go for the Pearl Izumi AmFib.

CW-X Expert Tights: super supportive

I just got these tights (actually, the 3/4 length) and they're great for keeping my knees in line! They are TIGHT, but not uncomfortably so. I fall in the middle of the medium sizing chart for their pants and have considered going up a size, but if you do, they won't be as supportive and the knee webbing (the purpose of such a tight) won't cup and support as its intended. Try them on for a workout or two, and commit. The CW-X Expert tights are all about performance.

These pants are pretty neat. I don't agree with the ad on the lactic acid stuff (I am an exercise physiologist)but they are well made and look great. A bit pricey, but if they are well made I am not opposed to that.

These tights are really neat. They are very well made, and I mean great quality you expect for the price. I am not sold on the claims about the lactic acid recovery (being into anatomy and physiology), but they feel good, look great and are quality pants. They are also on the flamboyant side. So, if you like quality and flash, these are for you.

Does anybody know what the inseam is on the S & M? I'm 6', 135lbs and I'm thinking I need a small, because Medium would be too big. I wear pants w/a 35" inseam...

Wore these for a chilly 1/2-marathon recently & loved them. The knee support is great. They're pricey, but worth it for races when you want to feel your best.

These are better than your average tight but compared to other cw-x I don't like them as much. They slide down and bunch up around my knees. The length is too short even though I followed the size chart. I like my other cw-x tights much better and they seem to offer more support than this pair. Try the stabilyx or pro instead.
Decent

I like the pro tights better overall, but these give a decent amount of support overall. They do slide a little more down than the pro tight and have a little less hip support.
snug but good

were much tighter than expected, hard to get on, but once on, make for a very good run - lots of support
Best tights for knees

I have found the remnants of an old knee injury are well managed with these tights without the need for bulky, uncomfortable sleeves. Well worth the price!

These tights are the greatest running gear that I own. I had never owned tights before, but I tried these last winter, and they were so comfortable, and kept my legs warm in really cold weather, but were not too hot on days that were not that cold. My legs felt energized and supported while wearing these. They may be a bit pricey, but are definitely worth it! I highly recommend these. I wore these rollerblading last winter also. You will love wearing these tights!
Feels so Good

I have been running since I was 15 (my older brothers ran cross country and I tagged along). Now, at the tender age of 48, my joints and connective tissue rebel against my passion to run. The CW-X were advised by a friend of mine. I gave them a positive try. The CW-X haven't dissolved my aches, but they certainly make my running more energizing. These tights cradle my hips and quads. It is almost like getting a light massage as I run. Yes, I purchased two more pair!

I was advised by my physical therapist to find compression garments for my recently diagnosed situation. These tights do the trick and are very comfortable.

I tested the tights during a recent ski trip and loved them. The extra sewn-in panels gave me some added support, and after a knee injury I really felt it helped my performance. Speed is fun, so thanks.

These were my first tights so I don't have much to go on. They were comfortable, but despite being a fairly miniscule person, I ordered medium, to go with the waist/hip stats provided. They were a little on the large side, I think...but for tights, not bad at all.

The tights fit well and don't rub or chafe. Great for cold or 60 degree weather.
Great gear for Antarctica
By: ColdRunner
March 19, 2009
I just came back from running a 1/2 marathon in Antarctica. These tights saved me and my knees without a doubt. I was warm, protected from the wind and while a little tight (the trip down with too many good meals perhaps?!) these tights are the way to go.
Rather excellent

I really like these tights. I had foot surgery a year ago and am slowly getting my fitness routine back in gear, so these have really helped me deal with an iffy knee quite nicely. I'd looked at these for months before I bought them and now I wish I'd not delayed. I would definitely recommend them!
Awesome!

I bought these for a road march in November. They are amazing! I have tendonitis in my right knee, and wearing my brace for too long chafes and irritates my skin. 16 miles with a 45-lbs load over mountainous terrain with mud three inches deep in combat boots, and my knees were the only things that DIDN'T hurt the next day! Definitely recommend! Kept me warm, too.
Great Running Tights!!

I really like running in these tights. When I got them and took them out of the package, I was a bit skeptical, as they looked like they were shrunk in the wash. I got up the courage and tried them on. To my amazement, they fit! And they were comfortable! They have a really tight ankle, which makes them tough to get on, (an ankle zipper would be nice) but other than that, they are quite comfortable. They don't bunch at the waist, (a personal pet peeve) and they support my knees, hips, and quads easily. They are quite warm when it's cold out and wick sweat when the sun shows its face. I've had zero chaffing trouble with these, and they're quite striking to look at--a.k.a--they make your butt look pretty good.
CWX tights, very tight

When I first looked at these tights I was sure I would never get them on - so small! BUT pulling them on like pantyhose got them nicely in place. And they feel wonderful! Each step is like a mini massage and I hate to take them off. I bought them for snowshoeing but we have not had enough snow to test them yet. I have been wearing a pair of non-insulated for working out and the support is really great. I may never go back to ordinary tights. Only downside is that everything else now feels baggy! The reason I rated 4 not 5 is because I have not had a chance to use them 'shoeing. When I do I will update.
