We spent a week in Acadia National Park hiking over 22 miles with a 4 and 5 year old....Needless to say that despite the constant climbing on their hands and knees and butt up and down granite these pants held up great. While I am not entirely convinced I would pay full retail, but on sale these are a tremendous value. The waist has a cinch cord which allowed us to buy one size up for future growth and we hemmed the legs with the stitch witch so we can easily undo and re-size for next year!
