Columbia Beartooth Hiking Shoe - Men's
Stop worrying about the dangers waiting to befall your feet and focus on the wind in your hair and the trail beneath your Columbia Men's Beartooth Hiking Shoes. These rugged trail shoes offer the protection and traction you need for comfortable, worry-free hikes. The TPU XTS forefoot plate between the midsole and outsole provides stability on unpredictable terrain and, in conjunction with the nylon shank, protection against rocks and sticks. The molded EVA midsoles absorb shock so your knees don't have to take the brunt of it, and the Beartooth Shoe's gusseted tongue provides a comfortable, natural feel. Columbia used medium-to-soft Omni-Grip rubber for the outsole, which gives you a superb combination of traction, smear, and durability for many seasons of trail running and hiking.
Bottom Line: Don't hibernate—lace up the Columbia Beartooth Trail Running Shoes and get out there.
Talk shop with all the gear freaks out there: ask 'em questions, upload/browse photos, and give your 2¢.

By any reasonable definition of "extreme" cold, no. They're not supposed to be winter boots, they're supposed to be lightweight hiking boots for reasonably low-key trips.

This one does not have goretex, although there is a version of the beartooth that does, it's called the Beartooth GTX.
This one is suede & mesh. I've never seen a GTX version available.
