Best travel pants.

By: Keith in CA(1)

I am a working photojournalist and documentary photographer, and I have finally found the ideal travel pants! Most so-called travel pants are lightweight nylon products better suited for hiking and camping. Those are fine for trips where it's hard to find laundry facilities, but in urban centers they scream "tourist". I have also always had trouble finding pants that are rugged enough to perform like jeans, but that can pass as a finer khaki. The Columbia GPS pant fits the bill. They are durable like a jean, but far less bulky, and can be dressed up with a nice button-down shirt. The pockets are also very deep which is great for not losing items in airplane seats and taxis. The peatmoss color is dark enough to mate with a black shirt and shoes, which is best for being less conspicuous in urban areas. The fit is a bit on the large side; I had to buy one size larger than normal. But, otherwise I have no complaints. In fact, I bought a couple of extra pair to have on hand in case they ever get discontinued.

Love 'em

I really like these pants, they're very comfortable and can be fairly dressed up or casual depending on the situation and what you wear them with. The side pocket is great for cell phones and very inconspicuous. And a lifetime warranty on pants? Seriously, you can't beat that!

Good Pants

My husband has had a pair of these for a year and he loves them. They fit great and have held up well. He loves the side pocket, which it surprisingly large without making the pants look bulky. They're nice enough he can wear them to work on a casual day. The only downside I've found with Columbia pants is they seem to get shorter with multiple washes.
