Columbia Fresh Pow Pant - Men's

The Columbia Men's Fresh Pow Pant is all about first tracks. Whether you choose to wait in line for the first chair or hike to a backcountry stash, this shell will keep you dry, warm, and happy. Internal gaiters keep the snow out when you find yourself breaking trail through three feet of fresh. The 10K-rated waterproofing and fully taped seams protect you from precipitation. If you start to overheat, unzip the Fresh Pow pants full-length side zips for instant ventilation. Removable suspenders keep these Columbia shell pants from riding down while you're wearing a pack or sitting on the lift.

Bottom Line: Slip on the Fresh Pow Pant and beat everyone to the powder stash.

Poor Side Zips and Pocket Defects mar a great pant

By:
February 7, 2008

The pant is made of tough, but is not too heavy of a fabric. It bends and moves well. Suspenders are sturdy and comfortable. Unfortunately, the "hook and loop" tabs on the side don't hold well when you attempt to vent the pant. The vent zips only work one direction as well. The thigh pocket arrived with the inside not sewed together -- thus you had a pocket space that extended down the lining to the ankle. Called Columbia - they are helpful and informed me this was a defect. I ended up with a Patagonia Primo Flash pant -- expensive, and light, but it performed very well with a good set of wool underwear.

Good Ski Pant

By:
January 13, 2008

For a shell ski pant it's not bad. When I first tried it on I thought it was a little baggy, but it wasn't an issue when skiing. The material has held up well. For the price it's a really good value for those on a budget.

Finally a hardcore sweet ski pant

By:
December 5, 2007

So I have bought 6 pairs of pants the last 3 years after ALL the cheapskate zippers on my Fate pants broke off. I ski 30+ days a year in early season/dead of winter/spring skiing backcountry/in-bounds/snow cat skiing so I demand rugged, versatile, and intelligently designed pants. Finally, I found the pants. Highlights include: A) roomy articulated fit, because who skis standing straight up with knee's locked? (texans) B)Suspenders! Suspenders are the bomb. Keep snow out of your ass on those wipeouts. C) Hardcore tough lining on the inside bottom of the pant leg (where your boots may rub together or where you may catch a ski edge. FINALLY, a pant with durable lower legs...most pants just reinforce the cuff and that is useless. This reinforces the whole area...nice. D) Waterproofness has been solid. These pants are sweet. It took me $900 to find them but it was well worth it. Hope you can use my advice and not have to suffer through pairs and pairs of inferior pants.
